Knicks · Trade Melo before draft to Celtics for 1st rounder n smart.... (page 3)

It makes no sense to trade him for nothing either, so either he orchestrates a trade that nets us a decent return, or he should stay and make the best of it.

Yes 22.4 a game yet 19 plus shots and 43% to do it. Melo is no longer athletic in a league that has become athletic.
His game is stifling and always one on one. No D at all so in effect you get someone who stifles the offense and plays no D. This isn't the culture we need. Brad Stevens would expect more and we should too. Bring him off the bench if he wants to stay and play him 20 minutes a night. Melo will find a way to shoot 15 times in 20 minutes.

I love how guys are like "Melo sucks and is terrible and shoot 43%! Let's trade him for the #1 overall pick in the draft!"

You think his shooting percentage is a secret from other teams?

We'll be lucky to get Austin Rivers for him. I don't think the Celtics would even do Melo for Smart straight up, let alone throw in the number one pick in the draft (or whatever it winds up being, it can't be lower than 4).

Trading him for "nothing" frees us up for a true rebuild and gets his high salary off the books.

I wonder if Magic Johnson still wants him because he praised him highly not that long ago? I'd trade Melo for their #28 draft pick at the end of the first round and pick a Swanigan, Thornwell, Ojeleye, or Bam with the pick.

Thank you Phil for keeping in real " we can't win with Carmelo". Finally let's move on from him

Looks like KP wants Melo to stay badly. So much for Melo being a "cancer" who stifles the development of our young "stars".

KP has been starting to look like Melo on offense recently so all the more reason that Melo must not return.

No player who actually has to go out and play their ass off and try to win games would be excited about trading Melo for Austin Rivers.
