EnySpree wrote:My mock 1-7

#1: Boston is so fucking lucky. They could take Fultz or Josh Jackson...
#2: Phoenix... I could see them taking Ball to play with Booker. They probably will take Jackson.
#3: Lakers will take Ball... it was written. If something changes I think they take Fox
#4: Orlando should take Jonathan Isaac... They don't need to take Fox but they might. Tatum is a possibility
#5: Philly is taking Fox if he's there. Dennis Smith or Monk are the consolation
#6 or #7: based on my logic... Tatum, Isaac, Monk, Smith will all be available. I can't comment on Frank based on YouTube videos against questionable competition... it doesn't matter who the twolves take if they are ahead of us

#1 I see Celts taking Fultz...they need someone to take the burden off Thomas on offense. Can Fultz compete at SG in the NBA? Jackson's offensive efficiency is not set in stone...and the Celtics have a good D already.
Would they consider trading out of #1? Maybe with the Kings? Just speculating.

#2 Can definitely see them taking Ball. They have some young bigs who will benefit from an elite passer, and he will make Booker better, too. I don't follow the Suns...what kind of player is TJ Warren? He seems to have progressed over his 3 years and is only 21 23. Do you they trade Bledsoe...who has 2 more years on a reasonable contract? On the other hand, a Ball/Booker backcourt might have some significant defensive shortcomings.

#3 Who do the Lakers take if Ball is gone? Tatum...Isaacs? Does Walton want a sniper? Are they sold on Russell as a PG...or would they rather have a guy like Fox? What if Jackson is avaiable...not the sniper they might want, but can do a little of everything and is a willing defender. Can he be Walton's Draymond Green?

#4 Philly is at #4, by the way...courtesy of the Knicks' win. If they feel Simmons can be their point player, they will take Monk. Simmons needs the ball to be effective...and the same is true of Fox. Monk is the perfect non-point PG who prefers to play off the ball, and will not be overmatched in terms of size like he would be at SG.

#5 Orlando was shopping Payton at the trading deadline if I remember correctly. A PG or SF, I assume. Can seem them taking Isaac. Another team that might even look at a trade with the Kings.

#6 Hopefully the Knicks...but who the F knows. I'm still hoping for Fox, Ntilikina, or Isaac.

#6 Minnesota- Dunn had 16 assists yesterday...if they like him they aren't looking at any PGs. If they are satisfied with Lavine and Wiggins, they are set at the 2 & 3 for years. If they want a frontline player to pair with Towns, they might be yet another team that wants to look to the Kings for a trade, since the big out there seems to be a reach, unless they feel Markkanen is worthy of the #6 slot.

knicks definitely find a way to screw themselves repeatedly and then we wonder why this franchise is not going anywhere.

with the 6th pick i pick dennis if he's available
with the 7th pick i pick dennis if he's available

if he isnt...i pay jrue what he wants and pick a SF to replace Melo.

I mean we were playing a bunch of undrafted guys (Holiday, Baker, Randle, Plumlee, Ndour) all the minutes yesterday. What else do you really want them to do??? Players do not tank! They don't miss shots and defensive assignments on purpose. If Hornacek was playing Melo in the 4th you would have a point. But what else can be done? Should he have only put 4 players on the court in the 4th quarter???

This type of thing is never done by the players on the court...Melo and Lee should not have played, and Willy should have played the first half, but not the second.

Philly sat Saric, and then kept McConnell out the end of the game (pretty sure on this... am I wrong?)

There was NO reason for Anthony to play.

The Knicks won the game in the 4th quarter when Holiday/Sasha and 4 rookies were on the floor.

Agreed...but you are talking about a single point...the smallest change in how the game was managed might have made a difference.

Melo scored 17 points in 23m... Maybe Kuz starts for him and scores 30, for all I know, but if I'm looking to lose the game I don't let Melo play.

Yeah tough call. Melo was healthy and wanted to play. Ticket holders pay to see him play. Knicks did play the full 4th with DLeaguers and end of benchers.

Lakers benched EVERYONE couple games ago and still beat the Spurs at full roster. What can you do.

Pray to the BB gods for a favorable coin flip?

Just frustrating...even if you're at 6 you can still drop when the balls are chosen, but you want to maximize your chances by finishing as low as you can.

During the season when I want us to win we lose...and later when we want to lose, we win. Add to this the fact that a team like Minny, that WAS NOT playing to tank, loses games you expect them to win.

Maybe we catch a break with the coin flip and the lotto pick.

the smart play (as in heads I win tails you lose) is have melo at the end. If he's the hero, great -- swan song...; if he misses the shots, at least we tried to let him have a graceful exit and we got the loss as a consolation prize (!!!)

Stop crying about wining the last game... Over over and done with. It's bad Karma talking about how They should have lost. Let it go

yeah i let it go. Considering the fact that we werent even suppose to be a lottery team we still have a good spot in a deep draft

I like your assessment too. Especially Philly.

It still leaves us with a good player. Tatum is starting to stick out as a guy that will most likely fall to us at 6 or 7.... I like the idea of having him at the 3 between KP and Willy... Hess a leader, Ball mover, poised, mature... alot of good traits with that kid

If we can at least stay at 7, we should be OK. You just don't know how teams will evaluate certain players, and you figure one sleeper might make it into the top 10.

I figure that Jackson, Fultz, and Ball will be gone...means guys like Tatum, and my 3 favorites Fox, Isaac, and Ntilikina, might be available, and I know other folks like Smith and Monk.

Just need some coin flip and lottery luck.
