Knicks · Bad people. Damaged people. (page 1)

Pat the Rat. Weaseled his way to job bashing paul WestHead. Got equity to join Heat. They tampered with him and we got a draft pick. HE signed an illegal contract for Juwan Howard. Pat is awful. He wins.
Red Auerbach, Nice guy? Nope. Winner, Yes.
Pop. Nice guy? Dude is cold. Cold with his players, media. Dude wins.
Jerry Krause? Ego, fat, ugly, winner.
Jerry Sloan. Mean, fighter as a player. Hardnose man, hard nose coach. Wins.
Phil, outspoken, speaks his mind, blunt, and has more rings than anyone. Took a job for big league money, made a few mistakes, but its Typical Knicks stuff. Symptoms of years of neglect. Three years fans and Media slamming him. Might not be a good man, and......
MAYBE THAT EXACTLY WHO WE NEED TO TAKE THE MEDIA AND FAN CRAP AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
Great men are not always a great person. sometimes they are flawed, hard headed and sometimes we don't see what in the hell they are doing.

In perspective, some of you are calling Noahs contract the worst in history. I'd say winning 23 games, after trading for Eddy and what we gave up (picks!!) set us back years. Amare, was bad. Melo trade wiped us out. Good players, big price to pay. Love melo, hate the results.
Noah is not the worst. How can I say this? Noah was here just one season. Might be bad, or, might be ok the remaining. Some of you are a bit damaged. And with good reason mind you.

You Phil whiners are not incorrect, you are damaged. You see everything bad and not getting better. But your focus is on phil. Phil is the battle, the problems are deeper. Phil is a bad person. And maybe this is the guy we need to get shyt done to set the franchise back on its feet. Its taking longer than anyone thought. Its not about Tyson or Calderone, its 20 years of bad decisions.
Fixing it with a bad person is not a terrible thing. Bailing on it cuz we don't like him or his triangle might be short sighted.

I'm sorry man, you sound like you're trapped in an abusive relationship. We all are.

What happens when the bad man Phil scares KP away? Will Knicks fans finally realize this guy is in over his head?

Nalod you're comparing signings to trades. Very different things. I don't know about worst ever, but NOah's signing ranks up there. But otherwise, I can agree with some of the stuff here. It's not all Phil. But let me ask you is there anything he could do by next season that you and nixluva would say he did a bad job? Are there any parameters for a successful season?

Then KP becomes a bad attitude no D, one dimensional bum that we are glad is gone. And Phil did a great job not anchoring us down with him.

Your running scenarios with your imagination. What if Phil is right, despite KP's talents that 7'3 big man thing that happens to a lot of them inflicts KP and he is never able to live up to the talent potential.
Before we make all kinds fearful statements, lets just say today, he is not ready.
So why did he bolt? Was he all Hating on Phil as you say? or a 21 year old kid who is emotionally drained. He is not a free agent or anything. Maybe he just wigged out, and later said "I'll be in touch soon with my off season regimen. Im sure you like to run around the house in your KP jammies raging on the spectrum that "KP GONE, KP GONE, KP GONE...." until they tranquilize you, but perhaps its nothing as dramatic as that.
But What if Phil is right? What if after two years the handwriting is on the wall and maybe we can't use him as a cornerstone cuz he breaks? What if Phil is wrong about everything else but this he is right about?

Lets put it this way, you can rage all you want about phil, he is here and not going anywhere.
and regardless of fault, and there is lots this year, and in years past, the fix is not to undue the past. Can't be done. Fix is to:

Don't trade the picks. Don't leverage up the future. Let the future happen.
Don't "Well, what about Noah"?? Answer: I don't know, neither do you. I don't know what to do, I'm not the boss or miss cleo. Neither are you. I don't care. I don't have to like phil, but he is here and I wish for the best. As for your whiney prognosticating of negative, its really not a badge of courage, its just you freaking out.

As long as phil is here, thats the deal. After him, who knows. He might even extend if things are coming together.
In fact, as long as he builds thru the draft and primary tools, then Im really quite good with him. He resets the franchise from a disaster. I think there was some no win situations with the knicks the last few years.
