So if the directive is to get younger and collect more 2-way players if Phil brought back Rose how would you view Phil's direction of the team?

public roasting for sure.

Looks like everyone can have a second chance if he is willing to "redeem"

+1. That would be a foolish move on his part.
I think I know who will be the topic of next years press conference.
It would mean a shot at the next year's #1 draft pick

A new scapegoat will be locked in until Phil leaves...Because he never took a shot or called a timeout...
It would be dumb as hell and i would be crossing over to the dark side if he's resigned.... it might not be too bad if he agreed to come off the bench and for more than half the price... but I just don't want any parts off him. He doesn't pass the ball, shoot the three, make good decisions or play defense
I'll have to find new angles to defend Phil and read Nixluva's bright outlook takes.........
stupid Knick fans. Not one of you asked the terms. 4 years $100mm? Or 2 years and $25mm like a Rondo type deal? Not all circumstances are equal.
Desperation on both sides.
Look, if Melo's gone, Rose's scoring won't be the worst thing in the world to take attention off KP. He'll need SOME help.
As long as it's a short deal - preferably a 1 and 1 with a TEAM option - I'm okay with it.
Though if Melo is gone, I feel like Rose would probably try to go somewhere where he had a chance to win. Like I said, it'd have to be desperation for both parties.

Rose ain't coming back for peanuts. Its going to take some serious change for him to forget that he doesn't like playing the Triangle. 2 years, means 2 more years of Rose looking off KP.
If it's on a very cheap contract, I'm fine with it. If Phil pays anything close to what I think he will, it will be a terrible signing though. And if Rose is replacing Melo as the focus of the offense, we'll be even worse.
I think it just means he wants his point to have handlebars

Does this imply you think Rose will get a substantial deal elsewhere?
This made very plain where Rose was in terms of health, fitness, and readiness after 4 years of injuries. Also showed where he was on both offense and defense.
Can only count on him for 60+ games.
Can be explosive to basket.
Not a 3pt threat.
Not a defender.
Not a facilitator.
Good midrange, undersized SG.
Which teams will pay for that?

Make that second year a player option and I would be ok with it because it would be clearly to make rose Trade bait and/or to just move the available money from this year's cap into next year's cap.
Complete chess move by Phil
Rose is just a SG at this point. Not a bad thing to have a scorer on the roster.

You forgot to say: off the bench.
