me too... I just needed to pretend there's a chance we'll be good next year

Its ok, we'll have the Triangle to get us through.....

Why are these jokes necessary? It's in the "I know you are but what an I?" Category... cut it out

You've spouted too much bile on this board directed at other posters to be lecturing anyone on what is appropriate behavior.

That's ok, I have the triangle to keep me warm

That and a martyr complex.

WHAT does that even mean weirdo?

It means you cant stop making threads calling other posters every name in the book because you're the only real fan here. Get off the cross and get back in your minivan.

Then they would need to trade, Ingram and the #3 pick for George.

Finally, they will need to convince Lowry or Chris Paul to come over. If both guys are out in the second round I think they might really think about jumping ship.

Now, if I am Magic I wouldn't do any of that.

They have the resources to make all of that happen. They probably should actually... Melo, George, Paul, Russell? They would need a center and bow chicawawa...

Would you trade KP for George?

No. I think George is overrated.

Watched the last two games and kept thinking how he would be crucified in NY for not making his team mates better or sharing the ball. Will be interesting to see how Bird stepping down will affect his future.

I'm surprised the MSM isn't ripping him a new one for his press conference which is the first in how long?

They didn't rip him a new one because he accepted accountability for the job he'd done, instead of trying to blame Paul George.

But Phil did take the blame in his press conference.... That's why he said Melo would be better off leaving as to not waste his last year's dealing with the rebuild

He said "I didn't make a single substitution, I didn't take a single shot... but the buck stops here."

That's like saying "yes it was wrong, but she was totally asking for it dressing like that."

That's like saying "I still don't understand what you think I did was wrong, but I'm sorry I upset you."

It's not actually accepting accountability if you blame someone else while supposedly accepting it.

Accepting accountability is what Larry Bird did.

Not really if Moz is healthy.

Lowry/Paul
Holiday
George
Melo
Mozgov

Now, you have a team of defenders and shooters around someone who isn't a good defender. Then again at the 4 who knows how will fare defensively.

JESUS! Phil is on the cusp of building a NEW CORE of talent for this franchise. There's no reason to do what Bird did. Why would Phil step down just as he's about to build a team that represents his vision? That's not a time to be leaving the job. It's time to roll up his sleeves and get down in there and work even harder.

Despite the bytching from some this is a GREAT period of time for this franchise. We have so much opportunity in front of this franchise to build for the future! We should all be excited!

Nix...seriously, can you tell me what you are drinking/smoking? It sure lets you see the bright bright side of things. Lol Bird knew he is too old to construct a full rebuild. Phil will need to be on oxygen by June. The Triangle is already dead. Btw. Your Jets made a good pick. They will be tough of D.

that's why I keep saying, it's not what phil says it's how he says it and the way it will be interpreted.

it's like calling someone ugly as oppose to just saying, she's not my type

That Melo trade would be a horrible trade for the Knicks. But it might happen.

Bird was the only person to win a ring, MVP, coach of the year, and executive of the year. Hell of a resume.

That trade would make zero sense for the Knicks even if the Lakers say the will swap the 28th pick for the knicks' 45 and 58 picks. Really if Phil would make that trade it would be about getting Melo far far far away from him while saving face by showing fans that he got a 1st rd pick in return.

This is not the fist or second time Larry has stepped down.
This is what a guy looks like when he knows he is going in for a partial rebuild.

Whats interesting is Bird is stepping down taking accountability for doing many of the things that you and others wanted Phil to do. He aqcuired established productive players like Teague, Ellis, Thad Young, Al Jefferson to put around his superstar player Paul George. While also having a young developing prospect in Miles Turner. They did just enough to get into the playoffs and lose in the first round.

And they don't run the triangle.

I don't think I ever asked the Knicks to make the moves the Pacers did. I said at the time I didn't think the Teague for George Hill move was a good one. I thought the Pacers would be better, but now they stand to lose PG in FA for nothing. Maybe they can move him at the draft. Good thing he doesn't have a no trade clause!

The principals are the same to what you have been preaching. They don't run the triangle system. They acquired established nba talent and not D league level talent. They tried to retool back to the 2012-2013 49 win ECC team.
