Five players on the team were first round picks and that includs Noah (out) Melo (being traded?) and Rose. I love high character guys that over achieve and fill a role for a team but at some point team building and creating a culture becomes about winning. Hopefully an approach is employed that doesn't focus on moving guys for nothing to get high character undrafted players that will buy in and is more about building a winner.

I believe randle or baker will not be back, when phil said the young guys play hard, he also said they didn't play smart at all, and the talent level was not there. Then again, how can he make astatement like that, then blame melo

I think one of Randle, Ndour, or Plumlee isn't back. I think it might depend on the draft and if O'quin is moved.

It could be that some of the lower end players may not make the team next year. It's all part of the process of upgrading the roster.

The possibility of trades could also be a chance to bring in better young talent or open up a roster spot. There are quite a few options for changes this summer. Melo, KOQ or CLee could be moved.

If the Knicks are rebuilding those guys all should be moved. I do worry about the outcome of trades though.

Not sure what you think would happen in a trade for these guys but Phil is probably going to want youth and picks as well as one capable starter.

Phil doesn't have a good track record with what he brings back in trades. I think the Melo deal is the scariest because Phil has made it known that he is done with him. In the past when he gets to that point with guys he has given them up for next to nothing.

OK you guys keep saying this and so does the Media, but due to the nature of Melo's contract it's going to take a substantial return to make any deal work. It's not really about a team trying to stick it to the Knicks cuz Phil said Melo should leave. The numbers of the deal have to work. Also there has to be a very willing trade partner to want to take on the challenge of making such a deal. Both teams will be desperate.

Phil has a different mandate as well. He's here not for a 20 year stint but to lay a foundation for the franchise. If Phil is successful in laying that foundation by the end of his deal then he'll have been successful IMO.

phil isn't here to build no foundation, he's here to collect his money that he suckered dolan into given him, and bring down the value of every single player on any of his ny knicks roster except No d willy, and force the bull sht system on anybody willing to listen.

Im so sick of you fools comparing GSW and spurs to system basketball that phil is trying to develop. It so fckng retarted to think a guy is building a foundation when

1) he has 2 years left on his contract
2)no player gives a flying fck about the triangle
3)players begging to be waived
4)gsw & the spurs have had primarily the same roster for more than 3 months, more like 5+ yrs
5)no franchise on earth would hire rambis for even a pep talk

we are a lost franchise with ass holes running it. How many players did the spurs and GSW have that wanted off the team, how many times did those team flip the entire roster, have you ever heard of duncun, curry, parker, green, klay, ginoble talk about mass confusion amongst the team and no direction, and skip out on exit meetings to ride bikes in central park.

When has GSW, Cavs and the spurs traded all their young picks for old wash up injury prone players..Nix get a grip

Who rips his star player through the media, then tries to trade him, certainly not POP..

I'm not the one who needs to get a grip! Does it even make sense that Phil is not seriously trying to build a foundation here with the Knicks? If he wasn't then he most certainly wouldn't have made the deal to get Willy. He might've traded the KP pick for a Win Now Player. We started the year with 5 rookies. We ended with 6 rookies. Willy, Baker, Randle, Plumlee, Kuz and Ndour!

Phil's contract length has nothing to do with it. What kind of dumb point is that. How long do you think his contract should've been 10yrs?

The YOUNG players in fact did like playing in Jeff's version of the Triangle. You simply hate on the system cuz you don't know what you're looking at. If you did then you wouldn't keep bringing it up. Jeff has modernized the offense and it's perfectly fine. Just cuz BJ and Rose refused to make the effort to learn it doesn't mean ALL the players did.

BJ wasn't going to be brought back anyway. NON LEARNER.

The Knicks will be bringing back most of the roster. There will be some continuity. Thing is that they are still in need of talent upgrades and with a young team this is to be expected. This is a STUPID point when you're building with players in their 20's.

Harping on Rambis is really not relevant. You and the Media makes a big deal of this but it's not relevant.

KP skipping the Exit Meeting was a bad move on his part. Even if he was upset about something that's not how you handle it. Things are simply not bad enough for such a reaction from a 21 yr old. The only real issue going forward is Melo being traded. After that there are no other roster issues!!! All that will be left are hard working Team Players. We'll add some new talent this summer and get back to building this team.

Nix, I couldn't even attempt to defend Melo the way you defend Triangle Phil. Priceless.

2 years of being the league unicorn and no playoffs. How much worse do things have to get, Nix? Hire Hinkie as a GM and start winning 10 games a year for the next 4 years?
The Latvian wants to win, not see his El Presidente pouring out the latrine can on the only quality star he gets to play with, go to PR with, etc...
