I got you. I'm being nice but I agree Melo is too much of a iso guy to be trusted to buy in. Olympic Melo would fit in perfect though. That's a pipe dream that he would ever become that until he's way past his prime. What's the next step for Toronto? How do they get better?
no next step. tough to get better than this - we can try to ride this out another couple of years - having a team that'll win around 50 games every year and advance a round. but nobody's beating lebron. we could beat everyone else tho.
i would like to give this core another run with a different coach tho. casey's been here 7 years - this could be a mark jackson type situation where another coach can step in and move us forward but chances of that are slim.
5 years of around 50 wins and some playoff advancements is some quality stuff and tough to achieve in the nba these days.

But, what will fans do when there is no one to blame? Don't they need to blame someone? Demarre Carrol? Landry Fields?

when fans aren't getting to that next level - there will always be someone to blame. but for me, blaming someone at the level of going from 2nd/3rd round team to championship level is much different than blaming someone from trying to go from lotto 4 life to playoff level.
as of right now - i would say most raptor fans want to try a new coach first before divesting talent wise b/c no guarantee in the world you can get back to 50 wins anytime soon. could be 10 years again before that happens, you never know. it's ok to be good for a while. doesn't always have to be great or bust.
Toronto needs badly to play basketball meaning stop thinking and just play. They need to stop kissing LeBron's rings and get busy trying to get a ring. Especially butter fingers Ibaka. DD needs to show up and do the necessary things to win.

Too cool DJ... but its a great mentality to have as a fan of sports. I totally dig why you crossed over. The stress of being a knicks fan is unmatched. Even when we're wining. Knicks are in a good space right now imho. Kinda like Toronto was years ago. The goal is to catch that next wave

Looks like someone is implementing the 90's Knicks philosophy. Knicks fans actually thought we would win. Raptor's fan mailing it in.
Raptors should be banned from the playoffs- all they do is choke

Doesn't that mean the Knicks should be banned from the NBA then?

warriors last year - that's a choke. we're just not in the same league.

That was an epic choke by the warriors last year. I just find the raptors frustrating (and I'm not even a fan)- I want them to play at their best, but they're sparodic at best- kills the excitement of the series

In order to choke, you must first be capable of playing at a standard that you can fall significantly short of- we are clearly not!

one could argue head to head, warriors did not choke.
Year before they had a clear path to finals with injured players falling before them en route.
Game one win in OT and Kyrie got hurt and was out for the balance of series. Without Love, Cav's won next two games. Warriors prevail, but Cav's missing 2 starting allsters.
Last year, Warriors up but Draymonds Testes sack slaps get him in trouble, turns the tide. Curry was beat up some.
Injuries and Mental toughness to NOT respond count.
While Warrior epic regular season run demonstrated a clear superior talent, vs. Cavs it was close the year before, and close again.
I think Cav's faced a healthy Cav's team last year and just flat out lost. Choke presumed Cav's were decided underdog.
