Knicks · S B Nation mock draft (page 1)

Kind of shows what happens if Monk(or anyone else unsuspected) goes higher than 6. Shows how valuable 6 couldve been. But I like the scenario for the Knicks if Monk goes 5 no matter what. Has Diallo going #10. Its to bad --it looks like he is not playing in the pre draft. I really wanted to see what he could do. Hope the KNicks have an open mind and look everywhere. We need a full private workout with him and Frank Jackson.

Of the 4...Monk, Fox, Ntilikina, and Isaac, my first glance tells me that Monk is the least versatile of the 4, but what he does BEST is better than the "bests" of the other 4, mainly his streak shooting.

Perfect for a team who wants a complimentary player.

there is another aspect to Monk. He does lack some size but his athleticism is off the charts. Dude showed a 42 inch vert. He's not just a sniper. He can jump out of the building. The thing that really intrigues me is if he can really integrate those hops into his game at the NBA level.

Our biggest problem is perimeter D, IMO- any guy we take has to be able to hold their own on the perimeter.

I'll continue to be a bytch about Monk, unless we drop to 8-9 and he's the BPA... then I might love him.

Monk makes sense for Sixers but I could also see them considering Frank because he could play off ball, defend, distribute and shoot for Sixers....depends if they might see more upside with Frankie.

Yep - would take Monk and be perfectly fine.

Funny how it's perfectly understandable that 76er's could pick Monk at #5 but many think Monk not good enough for Knicks at 7/8.

Worst case scenario for Monk is L-Williams/B-Gordon/etc but what if this cat is a star...R-Allen/etc?

Are you (we...Knicks) looking for a "lead" guard, PG, or SG. From my perspective...from everything I've read, Monk is a SG. Add to this the fact that his D is considered to be not so good.

Phil has never had a lead guard in the triangle. Why do we need a PG that we will restrict with our offense. Why not get the outstanding scorer who can get/make big shots in the clutch. Monk could guard PGs and Baker SGs...IMO.

Sam Vecenie said he thought that a player like Jerian Grant would be the perfect backcourt partner for Monk. He also said that he would be a good fit for the Bucks with Giannis. I think the same can be said about Philly with Simmons.

Philly and Milwaukee might be perfect spots and places that would allow him to come off the bench. I saw someone make the comparison of Ben Gordon and Monk and that makes sense if Monk doesn't improve..
