My two hypotheses: either (i) KP simply acted out immaturely, or (ii) he decided to skip the exit meeting, so that the Knicks wouldn't get a chance to ask KP not to play for Latvia, or do something else that KP may not be comfortable with doing in what is a pretty tense situation with the club, Phil, Melo, etc. MSG is a very toxic, political and treacherous environment after all.

You don't see even the flimsiest evidence that Janis is giving KP bad advice?? The guy is basically KP's voice and speaks for him all the time as he did in this article and as he did when KP was asked a question about signing the new contract with the Knicks, before KP could even think about answering the question that was asked ti him Janis basically put his hand over hid mouth and told the reporter that's not question that needs to be answered. Janis is the older brother who's acting just like an older brother would act and i'm pretty sure he had a big voice in KP skipping that meeting.

No, I do not see any evidence of Janis giving KP bad advice. KP skipping the exit meeting was a stupid thing to do, in my opinion, but I am yet to see any evidence that it was done on the advice of Janis.

I read Janis's recent statement as an attempt to diffuse the situation and the concerns without also admitting wrongdoing on KP's part.

You're kidding right! You think KP just sour of the moment on his way to the meeting decided he wasn't gonna go and didn't talk to his brother??? COME ON B!!!

Neither side has been pitch perfect B. They'll run into each other this summer and clear the air. Still plenty of time to work things out, playoffs arent even over yet. Just hope mgmt takes his concerns seriously.

If I recall wasn’t KP’s Euro team full of dysfunction too. I think KP is seeing some of the same issues here and is trying to use his “pull” to stop it before it gets too bad.

This may be true but KP has no power!!! He's just acting out at this point. KP is dabbling in things above his level. He can't presume to know more than Phil or Jeff etc. Janis also is outside his lane on this. The few Players on this team that resisted and rebelled were wrong! The inmates aren't running the asylum here.

KP's actions since end of season would be appropriate if he had played like a young star this year but he was mostly -- so/so in 2nd year.

Me personally as a HUGE KP fan -- would prefer he keep his trap shut === respect guys who have had great NBA careers (including Phil, Horny and even Rambis) in that equation and most of all NOT follow any of fugazy/cancer Melo advice.

We will see if KP has power or not. The players may or may not be wrong I don't know because I was not there. However, I am not about to just swallow what one of the worst POBOs tries to feed me. Especially, when that person has a history of being rigid, egotistical, and pompous.

What I may think is irrelevant, it is only facts that matter, and the only facts we have right now are Janis's public statements, which to me sound more like damage control, so he may be playing the prudent role here. As for the sour of the moment thing, it may very well happened this way for what we know. Maybe KP was in a bad mood. Maybe the interview was scheduled for an inconvenient time which interfered with his previous plans to fly to Latvia, and he decided not to change them feeling slighted that the Knicks mgt did not take his plans into consideration. Maybe in his previous exit interview Phil did not listen to him or ignored everything he said, so he thought it would be a waste of time this time around too. There could be myriad credible theories here, but lets not confuse them with facts, which are few and far between.

Well, fact of the matter is that Janis is not qualified to be an agent given his statements about KP. He obviously doesn't understand the way contracts work in the NBA nor the ramifications of the cost of leaving a contract.

And if he's tossing televisions around, that too, is a notable fact and a clue that he's either a hothead, an alcoholic, or a 5 year old in the body of an adult.

But let's agree that he's probably trying his best at spin control. The fact is that he's awful at it. KP can afford a professional agency and needs to have his brother apprentice with them.

If that formula wins championships I'm up for all what POBO stands for.

So far he has not been close but oh well 2 more years and it's over

What we know is KP's brother/agent affiliate has talked about the possibility of KP being traded. teams have called as well. Phil is on record as saying KP is not untouchable. We all have opinions that we can fuse into the facts, but they will always remain opinions until more facts come out. We still don't know WHY KP skipped the meeting. We also don't know WHY he didn't respond to Hornacek's text. KP has stated before he wasn't happy with how some things went this season, even things involving himself. he clearly was down when injured because he wanted to prove he could play all 82. but all of this could come to pass. Just have to wait and see.

The Knicks organization has made KP out to be some big future super star, but the Knicks organization has not given KP the coaching development to prepare his raw talent into a NBA level performance.
KP has the same weak performance and low IQ he had as a rookie throughout his 2nd season performance.

71 yr old senile Phil Jackson has stand behind the seen while the poor coaching staff he hired did nothing to improve KP talent. While the Knicks organization keep promoting KP as the Knicks future super star for fans to keep paying double the price of seat tickets to watch a LOSER Knicks team.
