Knicks · The Timberwolves are reportedly interested in pursuing Derrick Rose in free agency (page 1)

I realllly hope its going to happen
BigDaddyG @ 5/25/2017 12:49 PM
I thought they wanted to improve on defense?
reub @ 5/25/2017 4:10 PM
Tell Thibs that we'll sweeten the deal with Noah too.
meloshouldgo @ 5/25/2017 9:15 PM
Sign and trade our pick and Rose for their pick and Rubio? Can you sign and trade like that for draft picks?

Not a bad idea... trade us Pekovic, Rubio and Wiggins for Rose, Noah and Lance Thomas

franco12 @ 5/25/2017 10:28 PM
Sorry, but is Rose getting more than a vet min, $5M a year type deal?

What am I missing? Where is the demand for an always injured player? Outside of Phil and NY

The vet min for someone with 8 years experience is $2.1 mil.

Even the Wolves aren't that dense

Everyone seems to think Wiggins is the stupidest player in the league. He was singled out because of his defense and lack of court awareness. Thibbs is the one who wants Rose.... why not take Noah too? We'd get back the Russian mafia hit man in Pekovic.... Thibbs doesn't want Rubio. Lance has the rep of being a good defender add teammate... sounds good to me

Sorry haven't kept up on Wiggins. If that's the case I wouldn't want him either. Unless you think we would cut him or he is an exploring? I would do this deal, but it had to happen along with a Melo dump or cutting Melo lose. The more I think about it the less I want him around KP going forward.

Wiggins is young enough to change his game. He might benefit from being in a structured offense. Plus I think he would work better with KP and Willy in that way since they aren't as dynamic as Towns. Towns is a work horse meaning that he can get the ball all over the court and be successful. I think that's how thibs wants it. This is just me talking though.... realisticly I think if we threw the #8 in there it... that would get the job done. Sending Noah off with Rose and getting back Wiggins and Rubio? I dunno... sounds like a deal to me.

And by type deal - I mean something like Rondo has had to sign - in the $5-10M per year, 1 year.

Minnesota has like 30M+ to spend before they reach their cap ceiling. Why do they need us to sign Rose?

What FO professional in the NBA (Besides Phil) would offer Rose more than a single year, and anywhere North of $10M????

If someone does that, they deserve to be fired.

I agree with that... but that's why they would need to sign and trade Rose for Rubio. Its a switch out for a player they don't want for a player thet do want without wasting cap. They are eventually going to throw the check book at Towns. Levine and maybe Kris Dunn. They can't tie up too much cap. They aren't the Knicks as far as being in a big market. Thibbs wants vets. Rose and Noah were his guys.

Seriously we don't want Wiggins or anyone on wolves other than KAT which ain't happening

Rose is talking up that he wants wins not money. I believe him

I expect the usual suspects on a deal: SAS GS Cavs I can even imagine jazz if Hill leaves

As far as Wiggins, you don't see him being a better fit here? Its all about style of play in sports. I think if you put Wiggins in a situation where all he has to do is cut? He would flourish. The spacing is better with KP as Willy in my opinion as well.

In San Antonio, the point guard spot is more fluid. Tony Parker has a career-threatening injury suffered in the playoffs, and Patty Mills is a free agent. While there are rumors about them chasing Chris Paul, to do that would require a gutting of the roster (moving Pau Gasol and Parker for no money back, plus letting guys such as Mills and Dewayne Dedmon go for nothing) and there would be no money left for a guy like Rose. However, that scenario is unlikely, and if the Spurs bring Mills back Rose could make a good backup.

The question is money. Rose can still get buckets, he averaged 18 a game last season plus 4.4 assists, and he may be due a salary into the eight-figure range. But will a team pay that? And for how many years? San Antonio, if it keeps Gasol and Mills, would basically have the mid-level exception at a little more than $8 million a season. Minnesota may not offer much more. The teams willing to offer more money and a larger role to Rose are likely not ones on a deep playoff track (or maybe making the playoffs at all).

The market for Rose will be interesting, and maybe not as robust as he imagines. It will come down to what his priorities truly are.

Says in another article that Rose claims he has plenty of money now, and its about winning. Funny, because not so long ago he was openly talking about looking forward to signing a big contract this summer. All it took was one season in NY, lol.

Have to admit, If he played the right way off the bench, Rose could be a real X factor for the Spurs.

I have been underwhelmed. I don't know if it's a lack of desire or bbiq on his part

I'd prefer smart hungry player who play hard on D

Wiggins = too cool for school. Don't want him

I feel you no argument here.... but that also means he might be available 🤔.... if we can get him to take a ride in a possible Rubio trade I think we have to take a look at that
