Is to Miami for Winslow and #14(I think they have to add in McRoberts). I am guessing that they have been able to free themselves from Bosh contract opening up the money to take him on.
Melo doesn't take a hit with his brand.
Riley is one of the best execs in the game to attempt to win the chip with.
Dragic, Whiteside are both perfect pieces next to Melo. Waiters, Johnson, Richardson aren't bad either.
Knicks would obtain close to 45 mil in cap space.
Would also obtain 25+mil trade exception creating around 65+mil to work with cap wise.
Adding 14 pick in this draft would be great.
I wonder how Melo would feel about Miami? It's a good fit roster wise. He'd be closer to Puerto Rico which could be a plus. Would La La and his son be Willing to move there or spend school breaks and summers there?
dont tease me. If something like this happened I would be pretty humpy happy
No way this happens
Riley let D Wade walk for less money because his play was declining

OOOKKkkay..how closer to a championship is he be going be with Miami, a place where his 2 best friends just left.
If phil can't trade melo to a contender, don't bet on him going anywhere until that can happen

Melo isnt about titles, he's about being happy and feeling wanted.

If that was the case, there wouldn't be a list of only 3 teams, and he would have came out and said that, which I never hear him say. It wasn't like Denver didn't want him back, they knew he was going to leave so they got something out of it.

You don't believe Riley with Dragic, Melo & Whiteside could find a way to add more pieces to make that into a contender?

This
I would be shocked if Melo went anywhere other than Cleveland, Clippers (with C.Paul there) or MAAAAAYYYBEEEE Spurs.
The question im starting to wonder is if melo doesn't waive his NTC, will phil said fck it and do a MDA.

^^^^
This...No way does Riley trade a 1st rd pick and a young player who is a part of the foundation moving forward for a fading star.

I don't believe you believe that...By this logic, why not re-sign Wade and add the pieces? At least Wade is a proven champion unlike Melo who is also in decline. Wold love to fleece the Heat with this pick but no way does Riley do this...
Melo is only available to teams that think they are piece away.

You don't get cap space AND a trade exception.
In order to use the space, you have to renounce the exception. There's no doubling up.

Remember they are only able to do this because Bosh would be cleared from the cap. Last off season they may have been scared off giving Wade a long term big money deal as well as Whiteside and Johnson. And be stuck with Bosh contract as well. Wade also plays the same position of strength for their young guys like Richardson and Johnson. Replacing Noah and Mcroberts with Melo keeps them around the cap.
And this isnt even my proposal. This was from a Miami beat writer I believe.
Vmart wrote:Melo is only available to teams that think they are piece away.
that only works if he's waived or brought out. They are still going to have to give back some important role players, if not a star.

Ok thanks!
Riley give up the #14 pick along with Winslow .. Yeah for Paul George not Melo!
Miami Heat won 41 games this season .. having Melo in the offense Miami would have to get D.Wade back to win 41 or more games having Melo

I don't see that happening. It's actually a reality that is aware of. Phil still moves forward with his rebuilding process regardless of whether Melo stays or goes!

dont get your hopes up for that. Different situation since MDA was only a coach. Melo would look foolish if he just stayed here out of spite

Dantoni was done as soon as Grunwald amnestied Billups, signed Tyson and brought Woodson in. But he also was a lame duck, had 6 weeks left on his deal and got paid all of his money. Phil just reupped. But I also don't think Melo leaves just to leave. He wants to go to a winning situation and the deal Phil gave him makes that almost impossible. I think Phil resigning or Melo getting waived are about even odds.
