Ian Begley: The Knicks have talked to the Portland Trailblazers about acquiring one of Portland’s first-round picks, a source confirms to ESPN. The Knicks have workouts scheduled with at least one player pegged for a mid to late first-round pick in UNC’s Justin Jackson and are looking to acquire a second first-rounder to add to the pick they currently own – the No. 8 overall pick. Portland owns the 15th, 20th and 26th overall picks. The Knicks and Blazers discussions were first reported by the Sporting News.

Great news! Go Phil, get it done!
O'Quinn or Thomas and our two second rounders?
Or buying it with 3 M cash?
Does Portland need O'Quinn or Thomas?
I can't see Portland just give one away for cash. They'd want draft picks/players back.
Another update---
Portland owns the No. 15, 20 and 26 picks in this draft, and several teams are eager to get into that mix. The Knicks have inquired about some combination of the Blazers’ picks, a source said, and those talks are ongoing. New York has the eighth pick and could trade down for a combination of picks, though the preference for the Knicks is to keep their pick and add one of Portland’s.
I like what the Knicks are thinking

I think it's more about us taking on one or two of their many bad contracts and them giving up a 1st round pick for us to do it which i'm fine with cause we're gonna be rebuilding for at least 2 years but mnost likely 3 and maybe even 4 so we can afford to take on a bad contract especially if it brings us a 1st round pick in this strong draft. I just hope we don't trade them either one of our 2nd round picks especially the #44 pick.

Isaac#8
Mitchell#15
Justin Jackson#20
Frank mason #44
Center from Latvia#58
A++++ draft fingers crossed
Portland has Nurkic and Leonard and Ed Davis. They probably wouldn't care to take on KOQ for a pick. But they def need to shed some salary as they still have to pay Nurkic season after next and have a ton of salary already.
Harkless and Ed Davis would be nice. Though they probably want to dump Turner.
We wanted to sign Evan Turner last season, so I fear it would be for his salary

Look at Portland's salary next year. They owe $85mm to 4 guards next year in Lilliard, McCollum, Turner and Crabbe. Portland will use their picks to dump salary as they are locked into $137mm next year.
Knicks have cap space. If they send KOQ to Portland for Crabbe or Turner it kills the Knick's cap space but saves Portand $13-$14mm

Why fear? His salary is bad but the pick is worth it if they have a player they really like. Depends on what pick but KOQ for Turner and #15 would be a nice move for the Knicks.
If we do get say 15 & 26 for say Evan Turner. I would try to work a swap with Sac, Orlando, or Minny using #8 and #26 for Isaac. Then I would use #15 and a 2nd to target Mitchell.
Then I would use the other 2nd and Kuz to target Hart. Which would give me my dream draft.

I agree with this thinking. Turner has always been destined to be a Knicks. lol. I think Lee's contract is two much. However, the smart thing might be fore the knicks to help the Blazers do a major dump of salary by taking on several contracts. I think this would work if they renounce Rose.
Knicks
Lee
Kuz
O'Quinn
#44 pick
#58 pick
for
Blazers
Turner
Leonard
Aminu
#15 pick
#20 pick
#26 pick
HOLY SHIT... I didn't realize that Portland has the second highest payroll in the league and next year it will be #1... Their payroll will be
over $137mm... WOW
hopefully we can fleece them by handing out Jimmy D's money
Turner isn't a bad player. He would be an asset to the rotation. Guy plays defense and he can handle the rock. He's a mid range shooter... 6'7" can play 2-3.
Getting another 1 or two more ones, seems possible, let's see if they can do it.

C.J. McCollum contract balloons from about $3M to about $24M next year...Crabbe and Turner about $19m & $17m respectively...Nurkic with a qualifying offer after the upcoming season.
KOQ, our #2s (or just our #2 for 2018, if we own it)and $3M for Turner, #15 and #26 would seem feasible.
praying to Santa, cheesus, Buddha and everyone else that we get a pick, preferably 15 for Justin as I think he's kind of a glue chemistry guy (not rock star) team could benefit from
I don't want to give up C.Lee. He played well; he needs in fact to be more aggressive on offense.
E.Turner is the enigma. Do we get the Boston version or a different version.

Yup...Turner should be able to play lead guard for us at times, as well as 2 & 3. He had some good moments with Boston when he took on more responsibility, IMO. I think Jackson can live with the limited range on his shot.

This is the best trade(by best I mean realistic) I have seen this far. I will sign up for tis in a NY minute.
So the blazers are going to give up 3 draft picks for names like Lee Kuz and Quinn? Do better.
I dont care if we are taking back higher salary they not going to give up 3 first rd picks
