Knicks · The case for Jarrett Allen at 8 (page 1)

Jarrett Allen in many drafts would go top 3. At 8 or even a small trade down--I believe we get the best big in the draft

This player simply replaces Noah which is VITAL to the team. What we can do with Allen is fit him in with Willy and KP for 30 min each so we have floor balance.

I think he is the BPA at 8. Hes close to 6-11 with a 7-5++ wingspan.

Stats in one of the top 2 conferences that featured the top team(Kansas)

Season School Conf G MP FG FGA FG% 2P 2PA 2P% 3P 3PA 3P% FT FTA FT% TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
2016-17 Texas Big 12 18 34.6 6.6 10.9 .599 6.6 10.8 .608 0.0 0.2 .000 3.1 5.2 .585 9.8 0.7 0.7 1.7 2.8 1.9 16.2

He was only 18 and avg 16++ points 10 rebounds 1 steal and 2 blocks shooting 60%

These arent a bunch of dunks--this is a guy who has an array of shots with a jump hook and a gorgeous formed mid range shot that will easily allow him to move back to 3 at some point.

His length is superior and athleticism is solid. Hes got a frame that can handle 245 -248 pounds. He runs the floor very well--takes 3-4 strides to get from one foul line to the other

Grabbing Allen would really give us an edge upfront--so much that our guards should be able to create great space at will.

Hes the missing defense piece upfront--we have 2 maybe 3 more picks to help our backcourt + free agency money. To find a big like this---hard to do.

I love a skilled big man. Reminds me of a less retarded Version of Jared Jefferies

He is going 12th on draftnet's mock and 18th on draft express. Would he be a guy to target if the KNicks get a second pick?
***Draftnet updated their mock this afternoon.

He just had a private workout for the Timberwolves at 7 so he might not even make it to 8.

Interesting. It sounds like Minny is looking at going big.
The Wolves likely will choose from Florida State forward Jonathan Isaac, Arizona forward Lauri Markkanen, possibly Gonzaga's Zach Collins or a player such as Duke's Jayson Tatum, Kentucky's Malik Monk or one of as many as five point guards who could go among the draft's top 10 picks.

Allen worked out in Atlanta and Phoenix before arriving in Minneapolis for his first visit to Minnesota and is headed to Denver and Sacramento from here. He expects to work out for teams right up until shortly before the June 22 draft.

If they take a big other than Isaac at 7,someone from that top 7 slips to the Knicks.

If Allen goes at 7, that would be wonderful for the Knicks.

We don't use retarded anymore...not sure what the latest word is... differently advantaged...learning disabled...developing.

Spaz might have worked with Jeffries, though he did have his moments...
