He hates Gilbert. I can see where Lebron chasing ghosts leaves to get one more run in somewhere.
I can see where him leaving and team depleted loses revenue and valuation drops.
Lebron has to figure a way to buy the Cav's (Blind trust, help finance someone else then buy in when retired).
Would Gilbert NOT want Lebron to own it? Gilbert is a Detroit guy anyway.
These guys don't like each other. But Lebron loves his place in Ohio.
Where could Lebron play next to get 1 or two more rings? SAS? Clippers? Lakers?

I don't necessarily think rings are going to be his ultimate goal at the next location... I say that because he was chasing Jordan but now it's clear that we'll never view him as being equal to Jordan because he's below .500 in the NBA Finals (even though he was the underdog in 6 of 8 trips.
I see him going to either LA to transition from basketball to Hollywood. That's a way to continue to grow his brand and we know he cares about that.

Lebron has established his own identity which falls short of the hallowed 6-0 for jordan. Funny thing is Bill Russell's 11 beats them all. He was not just a role player either!!!!
Wilt only has two but he was the most dominant player statistically. Kareem has 6.
Jordan was the centerpiece in the dawn of the marketing age. Its also what we measure. He never failed in the finals. Jim Kelly don't get much cred for losing 4 superbowls. Lebron don't get much cred for carrying teams that had no business sniffing the finals into them.
Different era's, different players and all deserve their place on Mount Rushmore.
Bottom line is Jordan was an arrogant bastard winner and we love that. Lebron is a nice person, shows emotion, flops once in a while, and is in control of his own destiny. We don't like all that. Jordan was as well but was smart enough to not make a spectacle of himself. Of course, he did take two years off in the middle of a run. Was that gamble related exile? Nervous breakdown? who does that?
Nobody cared about his brand more than Jordan. And nobody did as good a job to protect it. Jordan was teflon. Bad dad, bad husband, no social positions and just the love of money and fueling his own thirst to win.
Dan Gilbert has partners but is the general partner. Cav's partners should get Lebron to buy him out which would boast their value. Im not saying Lebron should steal it, or screw Gilbert by any stretch.
I'd like to see more ex players involved and putting their money back into the league.
