Knicks · We are working out a player projected to go between 15-20. Who do we have the pick from? (page 1)

I know Portland is the popular guess.
It seems Knicks have a deal or know they can strike a deal for pick in the 15-20 range.
That's why they are working out Justin Jackson, a guy they seem to like plenty.

Wonder what the deal is though.
I'll be quite excited if we can add two rookies in the top 20 from this draft.
Just guessing, but possibly, Knicks could be looking at players with long arms and defensive potential.

Ntilikina has a 7 foot wingspan and defense is supposed to be his best attribute.
Jackson is a guy that has a 6'11 wingspan and expected to be a two-way player.

Maybe not next year, but a year or two from now, you have to think a lineup that has Porzingis, Jackson, Ntilikina on it will give team trouble on defense. That's so much length and ability to disrupt passing lanes, alter or block shots.

Even for next year throw this lineup out and you have some shooting, length, defense, decent speed.

Porzingis
Thomas
Jackson
Lee
Ntilikina

All players that will play with a motor, will value defense. Good spacing there with guys like KP, Thomas, Lee all capable to shoot 3's regularly.

I just don't know if Nti is ready to play in the NBA on offense, some reports are that he will need to spend some time in the D League.

I think its just due diligence. Before you bother trading for a pick you have to have a player targeted worth trading for. I think its just that simple. Detroit has been mentioned, Portland has been mentioned...
