We need to pay him based on the contract so pay him but we absolutely don't have to play him or even dress him, use that as leverage. Him and his fans would scream bloody murder but that's fine by me.

I don't think a team would be allowed to force someone to void part of their own contract. Best practice would be not to give out mega deals with a trade kicker and a Ntc. Melo is a knick this year or he is bought out. The deal he was give by Phil is not trade able.
O

No one said anything about voiding any contracts. The contract says we need to pay him a salary for his services and we need to pay him no matter what. So we will pay him to stay home. NOTHING is voided by doing that.

Would forcing be a better word? Maybe the knicks are allowed to do that but I doubt it. I believe Melo is vice president of the nbapa. I can't imagine it would be allowed. Maybe this time Silver steps in and gets involved with Jackson.

What exactly won't happen what is the legal position against it happening? Who cares what Melo is in the NBPA? No one is even forcing him to stay home, if he wants to play he came waive the fukking NTC. And no it doesn't matter who have him the NTC he can waive it or stay home.

Sounds like a sound plan.

Your great skills at raging sentence construction aside, I wonder what you hate more, Melo or the NTC he was given? Pay someone possibly 56 million clams to stay home and play pickup in his own gym in midtown.

You must own your own business, I'm guessing, right? Only a true captain of industry would commit mentally to a great plan like that.

Either there is no movement on Melo or Phil/Melo are really stealth about this.
Phil likes it quiet and Melo seems to be way laid back. I know Fans love this rumor stuff but with lack of transparency I do like it this way.

JROD, A true valiant defender of what is Melo there by the grace of you!

Rumors, bad piss-yellow journalism and draft/trade fantasies. Thy name is UK!

UNCA NALOD, the Centrist bastion of low grade Melohate, while maintaining Meloneutrality. "Trade him! Buy him out! But don't waive him! Honest, I really don't not nonundislike the guy!"

I'd try to send him to Charlotte. They added Howard, have Kemble. Straight up for Batum works, saves them a ton of money. Ad a first rounder and I would be happy to move on.
