It's pathetic

The deal the Suns turned down for KP was reported by a credible source, and it wasn't Woj.

Lol I highly doubt there was an "offer." Please don't buy this stuff.

maybe your only reading the NY articles, but this topic is all over the internet form everyone covering the NBA

Stop buying into the Media Trash! Phil's JOB is to field offers and try to improve the team. This is literally what happens every year at this time. But the Media knows Knicks Fans will overreact and that leads to more clicks and viewers tuning into SAS ranting. SMDH!

Dude it's a suppose franchise young talent, you think this was someone's personal opinion. No ones going to report this as fact if it wasn't, That career suicide.

knicks1248 @ 6/20/2017 7:25 PM
I guess when it comes down to it.this is just another one ofjacksons hand pick players that has shown resistance, or just another scapegoat. The list will never end until phil is he's gone

No pushback about KP trade talks from the Knicks....yet.

The onslaught today was brought about because of WOJ tweet stating something that was directly stated from Phil over a month ago when the season ended. Reporter asked if anyone on Knicks team was untouchable and Phil answered directly "No."

What's new?

And why does there need to be pushback?

Did PHO deny Booker was untradeable? Paul George? Butler?

Last 2 are actual all stars.

Boston just traded the #1 pick in the draft. Fultz's feeling hurt by Boston?

Where does it end?

Does Phil need to go down the roster and let us know who is tradeable and who is not?

And how often do the Knicks need to revise this list? Every month? Every time the media asks?

This would have been a good time with KP and the Knicks not talking, not sending coaches to work with him, to state that KP was part of the team's future. Might have helped bring the sides closer together.

How often do they need to do this? After every tweet? After every article? For each one?

What's the proper policy? WOJ Tweet is a yes but Isola is a no? Who makes the article cut? Which media outlets?

One tweet with some words about KP being part of the team's future would be enough. Until they talk again, the Knicks should be removing any obstacle to a resolution that's good for both sides. Letting this story hang out there like that doesn't do the Knicks image any good with potential free agents. Not a good look for the Knicks.

so mostly after Phil has already stated something, if WOJ tweets something pathetic, you want the Knicks/Phil to tweet something in response. Every time? Every player?

Again, if WOJ tweets something Knicks need to respond. Isola? TommyD? Newsday dude? Alan Hahn?

Who's on the list and who is not?

Knicks already said no one was untradeable. How many more times to they need to say it for you to feel OK about it?

As 1248 pointed out, this has grown beyond a Woj story, other outlets are doing their own reporting. Saying anyone is tradeable doesn't mean you start entering negotiations to possibly trading your best pick in 30 years over a skipped meeting. Thats what thin skinned execs do.

you just made that up.

Also, most of the media is repeat. Woj says and everyone else based their articles off of that. Nothing more. It's grown beyond Woj cause of clickbait and lack of originality. Why should the Knicks organization feel the need to respond to that crap?

Sure, its just a coincidence Phil is listening to offers now. KP has shared his surprise (through social media) at this story, yet I see no effort by the Knicks to shoot it down. You may believe its planning for all contingencies. I consider it a situation that never should have gotten to this point without a more proactive approach from the Knicks, in the first place.

Phil is a legendary coach but he's approaching the job mostly as a coach, not as an executive. I thought the way he and his staff were taking a very serious approach to the draft, his admission that tweeting was a bad idea, showed a maturing executive. But he's still handling the Porzingis situation poorly.

Nalod @ 6/20/2017 8:38 PM
Geez, how is his value up or down by rumor? Most of you grab it, then run with as if your in the process.
All Janis has to do is pick up the phone and call knicks and ask if he is in play. Then it stays there.
If he is in play, maybe Knicks call him first.
But nobody calling UK posters!!!

No it's not a coincidence that the Knicks are listening to offers now, they probably always have, it's just been reported now, and also lapped up by readers gullible enough to believe it. And it's being reported by someone who probably can't get the inside scoop on who the Knicks are picking and he's just bringing it up out of spite.

nykshaknbake @ 6/21/2017 5:20 AM
Nothing wrong with entertaining offers. I'm no Phil fan but it's silly to bash him for things he hasn't done but might do.

His shirt has wings on it!
That means he wants to go to the Hawks????
Notice the little smirk, and one eye is a bit smaller than the other? Thats an ancient water sign, and who is named after water?
"LAKERS"!!! LOL!
Also, notice the pattern of his laugh line on his face? Yep, when British Noblemen were chosen for colonial assignments it was thought some in he kings court would suggest to the king a mans strength can be seen by his laugh line. A weak man we sent to poor colony with little natural resources. KP has such a line and........>Yep, Ireland was a poor colony in the empire and..........CELTICS!!!!

Seriously. The dude could post a picture of himself at the beach and Woj would write an article about how he wants to go play in Oakland or LA. And Crushalot would tell us is Phil's fault and 1248 would reason that the sky is falling. Damn draft can't get here soon enough.

Its mostly the people who hate Phil that "believe" it. Phil had made some bonehead moves no doubt about it BUT listening to offers is not a bad thing...that's his job.

No.

If someone wants to make an offer we can't refuse..........Well knicks should listen.

Hate is a bad word....Dislike or dont respect as a GM.....Maybe a little jealous that GM is the highest paid GM, with no GM skills and looks like a rookie with suspect moves. Also I never thought highly of Phil even as a coach....So I'm one of those Phil haters (I guess).....That doesn't mean I believe every social media article.

Phil could've done a better job....and he's not perfect. But I do give him credit for showing growth in his position. To me, he's doing what all GM's should do, when you have a team that won 20 games the last 2 or 3 years. Nothing wrong with listening or asking for the moon. In other words, KP isn't going anywhere, until Phil finds a rookie GM like himself, willing to mortgage their future.

I agree with most of what you said. I'm not a Phil fan...in fact ive criticized him much more than I have praised him. I still think he is more of a coach than a executive. However there are a few that seem to genuinely hate everything he does or says

there's nothing to like about anything phil says or does.

you are what your record says you are.

he gets zero benefit of the doubt.

it's comical to even consider the media being at fault in anyway for the ongoing disgrace this organization is.

knicks and phil only have themselves to blame for their record, their reputation, and their horrible reality.
