"We could of been a contender!" Where is Brando when we need him? LOL

No way we could do it by building around KP, right?

nixluva @ 6/22/2017 7:27 PM
Knicks are fine! IMO Ainge is a FOOL to not cough up the assets! What's the point of collecting all those assets if not to use them in a deal for a kid like KP???
StarksEwing1 @ 6/22/2017 7:27 PM
Briggs is just mad because he wants his new frank kaminsky crush

So you're just going to make up what tweets to believe in order to desperately prove your a draft guru?

Check.

what was on the table that Phil passed on? Do we know? Did Phil simply waste everyone's time with demands that weren't going to be met?

Did Phil want to see if he could make a deal, or was he playing his Zen mind tricks through the media?

Chandler @ 6/22/2017 7:40 PM
Reminder: when was the last time celts lost a trade and when we won one

I'm more than fine w no trade.

codeunknown @ 6/22/2017 7:42 PM
Excellent. The precedent and psychology of this is good going forward.

Good question. It was my theory that Phil was doing this in part to put the Knicks in the headlines again, like he did when he got Rose and Noah right after having to watch a much hyped playoffs from the sidelines.

Last year the playoffs got the most attention, this season its the draft, and Phil might just be chasing headlines again. I hope thats the case, still isnt good for buiding a welcoming environment.

A wise, patient, Zen Master would be really helpful right now, not an authoritarian.

Chicago just traded Jimmy - got number 7 - and I think may pick Monk - which really opens things up for us to pick Smith Jr or Isaac, my 2 favorites.

Phil was never serious about trading KP, in my opinion. Said it during the trade talk, either he was going to trade him or he was simply mind fucking him for skipping the meeting and siding with Melo. KP will think twice about going AWOL. He'll come into camp now ready to prove himself on a different level. You can't do what he did and come in and coast. I like the challenge KP has ahead for him. The type of offers we were getting should show KP naysayers what his value is. He isn't even an all-star or top 20 player yet. But we were getting offers equivalent of proven all-stars like Jimmy Butler, even better than that. Why should we just trade the guy who could be our franchise guy away because he's pouting?

We drafted Ntilikina, the guy fits in the international feel to the team in the rebuild.

Hernangomez
Porzingis
Kuzminskas
Ntilikina

Four guys that are 0-2 years into the league with an average league experience of 1 between them. There can be internal growth here. I know Willy and KP can still improve lots and I wouldn't discount Kuz. He can shoot and drive it, he may get better next year.

I know not everyone is high on Kuz and Ron, but the team is looking to play a certain way and wants players who are active, move off the ball, shoot, will give the effort defensively. Ron is part of this re-building process.

Perhaps this is Phil's last year and he's crazy to do this. We won't lose that much, because we'll draft higher next year. But maybe he knows what he's doing with Nti, and Baker. That's two point guards who will go check their man, take hard fouls, be physical, use their all to defend. After a year of Rose, it will be refreshing.

Right now I'd say our rotation should focus on active defensive minded players who can shoot the ball.

Starting 5:
O'Quinn
Porzingis
Thomas
Holiday
Ntilikina
^ That's a defensive group there that will give their all on D.

Key Bench - Willy, Kuzminskas, Lee, Baker.

Fuck Melo. I've had it with him. Cut him as far as I care. Keep him away from the team. He's bad influence on Melo. Never said that before, but it's become clear he's a big part of the divide between KP and the Knicks.

I'm not sure about that. Why aren't we hearing anything about kp pro Knicks from phil yet?

You said you loved Ntilikina. And he should be the pick. You flip flop every day.
