It's not cut and dried in terms of the legalities, but Dotson does come off as a scumbag in the report

If he was GUILTY of rape in a court of law then we wouldn't be having this conversation. None of us were there and the young woman told her side of things as did the young men. If you've actually read the entire Police Report it's pretty clear why they didn't look to prosecute. The young woman was going along with a lot of the activity while at the Party with many others around. She then wants the Police to believe that she was forced to get in a cab and leave that party. Her friends weren't saying she was forced. The whole thing was bad judgment all everyone's part. I think what they did was immoral but that doesn't mean they raped her.

The enduring question is asking whether this current Knicks franchise is stable enough and have the personnel/resources enough to handle a player with this kind of red flag in his background.

The fair question is, whether you think Dotson is innocent or not, if the current Knicks can offer the right circumstances for a player with these kind of red flags to overcome and thrive?

I wouldn't go that far. Hormones and Alcohol are a bad mix. There's so much irresponsible Sex, Alcohol and Drugs going on out there. These young guys watch too many Porn movies and think they can live it out. I'm LESS worried now after the fear of God was probably put in this young man. I think he knows how close he was to being in prison!!!

Clearly the police looked at it and decided there was not enough evidence to charge him. That is enough for me. This kid looks like he has real talent as a 3 and D guy and he probably would have been a 20-25 pick had he not gotten the rape allegations. He may be a steal for us if his college production translates to the NBA.

Fox, J.Jackson and H.Giles were also drafted at #5, #15 and #20 and Dotson at #44 so they didn't have all the great choices at #44 as the Kings did.
i cant go into details because hes a family friend. there was some wrong doing but no no no it was nothing like rape...like not AT ALL!
all i can say is hes a good kid that made a stupid mistake. this happens ALOT on campuses nationwide (doesnt mean its right). his family has heavily criticized him (especially the women in his family) to the point of almost outcasting him.
hopefully he has learned his lesson and becomes a better human being.

Seems like he tried to be a more well-rounded guard after the season ended. He seems to have good physical specs and can shoot.
Choosing him seems odd given Jackson's desire to have players with good character, so I have to expect Phil had a good talk with him about his past mistakes before the draft.
Looking forward to seeing what he can show us in SL.

I agree. Not condoning what he did, but he was young and he did have to pay a small price for his actions. I just hope this doesn't turn into a small media circus.
My feeling is that he should have a tight leash regarding off the field behavior, but if he handles himself well, it should be fine.
