I have long been on the theory that Dolan asked Phil to make one concession in regard to Melo and Phil likely thought he can work thru it. He could not.
My take is no GM signs 100mil contracts unless its with the owner. Proof? Melo is not a phil type of player.
My point was Phil is either leaving, or being asked to leave because of the potential buy out. Phil can't move forward with Melo on the roster and/or Dolan can't see after three years the team is being run smoother.
Personel wise its on the right track, but you can't have the kind of conflicts with your players as he has with KP and Melo.
In the end this is on Dolan for insisting on keeping Melo, and Phil for allowing that concession. Its on both of them.
Dolan corrupted Phil by giving him the money, bicoastal freedoms and no constraints.
Where is Isiah?
