3/4 years ago this might have been a good idea...not sure I would want him at this point.

maybe a concession to KP. Definitely as a mentor.

Would have to depend on $$ and length of contract.

I get bad vibes on this if the attraction is mutual.

Right, KOQ, two first rounders and Ntilikna should get it done. Lets waste whatever assets we have to "win now". I mean who doesn't want more 44 win seasons. Throw in a second round exit or two and we would have accomplished a full reset.

huh? Teague a FA.

Price is right, as in 2 year deal at $12M per or lower.

Teague is a free agent. Knicks have about 20 mil in cap space.

Hornacek is known for playing mulitple PGs. Ntilikina also has SG size. He can serve as a mentor, but also play alongside each other.

Don't forget that JH loves running with 2 PG's on the floor at the same time so i can't see it hurting Frank's growth.

I think they want a PG that actually plays PG, not one that only wants to drive to the basket for layups and not pass the ball.

Should certainly help keep us out of getting a high first round pick, what a fantastic idea! Hopefully we become a treadmill team for years to come!
newyorknewyork @ 6/28/2017 1:44 PM
Teague will command a 4 year deal easily
newyorknewyork @ 6/28/2017 1:45 PM
If he takes a 2 year deal it to play for a contender. Denver could use a player like him

True, I forget that Jeff now has the keys to the offense and frank is def can guard the 2 spot... I wish we would offer Shawn Livingston a contract as he would come much cheaper

I don't think there was any chance this team wasn't going to add a Vet PG and that alone was going to keep this team from being a complete bottom dweller. There is already talent on the roster, which people tend to forget. Young guys will improve and with the right PG that will mean more wins.
This team could easily surpass this season's win total. They might be Lottery but not top 5. Maybe not even top 10 in Lottery next season.

Teague is not star but he's solid enough to allow the team to make better decisions than with Rose or BJ. That's also going to lead to a more competitive team.

Prob will push the wins total from 30 to 35 with no playoffs and going from 5-7 lottery to 12-14th pick.
What is interesting or useful about it?
As I will probably watch no more than 10-20 games I will see 1-2 less loses.
So what?

I don't see tanking as a solution though. What teams have been successful building that way? The best organizations (Golden State and San Antonio) for example, are currently built around players they did not acquire at the top of the draft. Building a winning culture is what's important, and meshing young talent with vet leadership. Not saying Teague is the solution, just saying you can't dismiss guys because they don't help tank. Ultimately, the franchise getting out of mediocrity depends on the development of Porzingis becoming a true franchise player, and what we put for talent around him, and not playing for ping pong balls the next few years. Rebuilding doesn't necessarily have to mean tanking.

By what measure do you suggest the Rose is better?

Yeah Teague is a huge improvement over Rose. Better shooter, playmaker, defender, and less of a health risk. Better attitude and personality for the chemistry of the team as well.

Teague Better than Rose C'mon!!! Even being a health risk Rose is a better player than Teague. When was Rose attitude and personality a question or distraction? His going to Chicago wasn't a bad thing for the team and not even for him.
NOW tell me what Chemistry does Teague have with the team that Rose hasn't already have??? Chemistry is Built not given upon signing!!!

He's a free agent meaning you don't need to trade for him.

Is this sarcastic? I can't tell if he really means it.

When I last check that was part of a PG position.
Question? Isn't a layup a higher percentage shot than passing the ball? Especially if you can create that layup.
Don't know who educated you in BB but maybe go back to school.
