"With Phil Jackson out and the triangle de-emphasized, the Knicks, under general manager Steve Mills, have interest in free agent point guard Jeff Teague, league sources told ESPN. League sources say the interest in Teague is mutual. The Knicks, under Mills, had talked to the Hawks about trading for Teague two years ago."Ian Begley, ESPN Staff Writer
Dont mind Teague if the price is right.

Yeah, but you just know we're going to overpay for a guy past his prime
Same ole Knicks.
Trying to win now smh.

we are maybe 2 offseason away from trying to add named FAs. We should be collecting some more draft picks with the cap space and build up the talent base. Not lock ourselves in mediocrity.
he is not a winning player. omg

Teague just turned 29 and had a good year. He is in his prime.

Only if it is a 2yr deal but even then it is a waste of time. They need to rebuild.
Oh god, please no ! Why !!!!
Maybe Teague off the bench but definitely not as a starter

are you saying we can only bring 21 yr olds to play for the knicks in order to rebuild, because that's not a rebuild, thats a d league squad hoping they turn into something
Don't know what most of you saw but DRose played good last year. Look at his numbers. Rose push the ball and got in the lane and score. Sign Rose to a contract that both can live with. He is a better option than Teague.

Not with yet another injury.

By what measure do you suggest the Rose is better?

did you read that from my post? Where did I mention 21 y/o? There are other option and I want a d-league team next year over an 7-10 draft pick team.
Is Teague to be a "mentor" to Frank? Is this another concession to Anthony...trying to create a team that can "compete" while Melo is still here?
3/4 years ago this might have been a good idea...not sure I would want him at this point.

No, but speed reliant point guards don't usually hold up into their 30s. We're not a Jeff Teague away from contending, so it doesn't make sense to throw a big contract at him.
Please no. Let's start the Frank era early. Let him learn with KP and Willy now

I do get the idea that we should be aiming to position ourselves to draft a top talent again in the 2018 draft.
I do begrudgingly agree that we have to balance that off being able to field a team that has balance and can develop our players. And I think having someone like Teague at the right price does that, better than Ron Baker or Rose. You can't throw out Frank and Baker and hope to win 15 games. I think KP would be miserable, and we'd have no shot at trading Melo.
If Teague fits with Hornacek's vision of how he wants to run the team, and the price is right, do it.
You never know - we could get lucky and healthy and squeak into the play offs.

Yeah Teague is a huge improvement over Rose. Better shooter, playmaker, defender, and less of a health risk. Better attitude and personality for the chemistry of the team as well.

maybe a concession to KP. Definitely as a mentor.

Would have to depend on $$ and length of contract.
I get bad vibes on this if the attraction is mutual.
