Dolan in April decides to pick up the next 2 years of PJ's contract. Once the option was picked up, PJ could do whatever he wanted including being let go without having to earn the final 2 years of that contract.
Ticket holders like myself will pay for this. The cost for this terrible product is horrible.
This includes my cable bill just so I can watch MSG.
Shame on Phil to ask melo not to hold the ball or play defense. What nerve. #hoodwinked

According to the Knicks--fans are a bunch of arseholes who deserve to pay more for their mistakes so they can enjoy another 20 years of sht basketball.
Dolan was stupid enough to give him $60 million
Then when he had the option to forgo 24 million of that deal he doesn't
Only to change his mind 3 months later

We have the most clueless owner in all sports. Maybe I need to work for Dolan... he clearly doesn't care about money or he simply makes to much money.

Kinda makes you think Dolan and Phil planned something along these lines. Dolan let Phil do the Draft and UDFA's and basically aside from using some cap space on a Vet PG, that was everything Phil wanted to do anyway. Phil basically laid a foundation for Dolan as he was asked to do. This franchise is in MUCH better position to go from here than when Phil came in. Phil haters won't admit it but it's true. This is a MUCH easier job for a new Prez to come in and take over. Phil also effectively shielded Dolan and Dolan has been fully enjoying his freedom. Now if they can maneuver Ujiri into the job it's all good.
Did Phil do a buyout or did he get all the remaining money?
