Well you wanted Phil gone...this is what is gonna happen.

One thing we dont talk abiut is that Mills was brought back due to Dolan correct? Phil hired him back but he didnt have any real history with the guy always felt that was a Dolan move.

He needed to be gone. He wasn't a good executive. It doesn't seem like you need a consultant to rehire the guy that had the job before and wasn't good at it. If Mills had spent the last three years working under a very good president then maybe this makes sense.

Did I say Phil was a good executive? I had no problem with his firing. My point is if you expected to get a great President replacement at this point you are dreaming. those guys are either working for other teams or they're hesitant of taking the job because of Dolan.

I was very excited when Phil was hired. He had a tremendous opportunity with power and autonomy. His performance was more than disappointing. But my hope is that Dolan has recognized the importance of stepping away and letting his basketball guys make decisions. I was excited to hear about the guy they brought in to help Mills with the hunt for a new pres. He appears to be a guy that would find a person qualified to do the job. I hope that is what he does. I don't think Mills is that guy.

I don't have the same optimism you do. This team has been a mess since 2000 mostly because of Dolan.

Phil was given autonomy and the power to change that. It is too bad he was not a good executive.

Not sure why you keeping bringing Phil up. You don't have to convince me he was a bad executive I know that.

Phil only took half my suggestion, lol. I said put Mills back at president and Gaines at GM. Griffin wouldn't have the same relationship with Dolan, Dolan had with Isiah (unless he wins a lot) so it might work better with Mills as president again without Isiah having the run of the place. Still doesnt look like they would be cleaning house.

Gaines should be the choice watch him get hired off our staff

Stupid is as stupid does. We deserve this.

Phil was offered up to the masses as a sacrifice. The Knicks Brass don't feel like they need a complete overhaul. Phil wasn't kidding when he said they think they know what they're doing. Phil basically did everything that he could at this point with regards to setting up the rebuild. Phil chose all of the players we have on the team and on the Summer League team.
Essentially the hard work is already done. Adding a stop gap PG isn't hard work!!! What is it that you think any GM is going to be doing right now anyway? This team isn't about trying to win a Title next year. This is about player development now. They're gonna let these young players grow and then figure out what they've got and what they may need. There's no rush to hire a new guy. The machine Phil left is still running.

His rep goes back to the Bulls championship years, strong drafting in NY, and his father is a legendary coach. Gaines has the pedigree for bigger and better things, so I hope the Knicks are smart enough to make him a part of the franchise's future.

We need someone clever that can turn Courtney Lee and KOQ into future draft picks. Eat a short term contract of a team looking to shed salary for FA to acquire draft pick(s) .
newyorknewyork@ 6/30/2017 8:22 PM
Like Courtney Lee to Pelicans for 2019 draft pick and 2020 right to swap & Omar Asik.

Mills has has a birds-eye view of countless Knicks presidents toss away draft picks, get taken advantage of in trades, and overpay for players. At this point, Mills knows what not to do! Reports are out there that the Knicks have turned down a few deals (Rubio & Anderson) because we font want to give up a 1st round pick nor do we want to take on too much salary...See, he's learning...
