Knicks · Woj: Melo willing to waive NTC for trade to Rockets or Cavs (page 1)

By not signing anyone, knicks made melo flinch.
NardDogNation @ 7/3/2017 2:20 AM
I don't want anyone or anything off the Rockets, aside for Darryl Morey. And since he can't be included in a trade, the Rockets will have to find a third team to take Ryan Andersen since we definitely shouldn't be interested in him at that pricetag. Hopefully team like the Pistons take him as part of a salary dunp.
dacash @ 7/3/2017 2:21 AM
mills and gaines on that assss.now try and get a nice return for him.

Love for Melo is the best we can get
Clean @ 7/3/2017 4:18 AM
Good now that we got that out of the way it is time to start playing both against each other and get as much drafts picks into whatever trade we get. If they want to try and cheat us then we hold on to Melo and sit him. Once it is obvious those teams need more to compete against the GSW they will come up off some draft picks later. The name of the game is patience. We can't seem desperate to trade. Either Melo will add teams to list or those teams will part with me when they get desperate.

I definitely do not want Ryan Anderson, but I'd be happy with Ariza and Eric Gordon as I think you could trade the latter for a pick or young player or something

Cavs I definitely do not want to take on JR Smith's contract, so I have a hard time seeing what trade they could make. Unless we work out a 3 way deal with KLove going to Boston (if they flame out on Hayward)

Indeed- personally I think that actually makes sense for the Cavs if Melo is Lebron is leaving after this season- gets rid of Loves contract (melo would likely opt out that year), giving them a clean slate once they've traded Irving.

newyorknewyork @ 7/3/2017 5:21 AM
Nets would be a perfect 3rd team for Anderson. With Houston giving up a future pick to them. They need a stretch 4, have cap space they aren't going to really use. Need to add players that can produce since they will be giving up their pick to Boston anyway.
smackeddog @ 7/3/2017 5:37 AM
Melo actually has a good contract now- essentially it's a one year $26mil expiring deal (he will likely opt out of year 2 to sign a multi year deal) - less than Milsap is getting this season.

There is zero chance he opts out. Even he knows full well no team will match that money, even in the era of this new TV deal. It would be so foolish of him, especially considering he's probably going through a divorce.

No it's not.... we don't want Love. He takes up too much salary. He doesn't fit the roster or the plan to rebuild...

But he could be flipped. I would love to get involved in a Cavs, Knicks 3 way... we just need that 3rd team

Welpee @ 7/3/2017 6:44 AM
Gotta believe if Boston strikes out on Hayward Melo could be in play there. And I gotta believe Melo would accept a trade to Boston if that opportunity arise.

Ainge can't swing and miss on Butler, George and Hayward and do nothing but hold on to assets for another off season.

But quietly... that's what he's been doing

Hard to believe Cleveland would engage in a trade with their most formidable competition in the east.

I agree. I also hope he expands his list to include the Celtics if they don't get Hayward. I think they could put together the best package for Melo.

Wonder if the Rockets would part with Capela.

Nene
Melo
Tucker
Harden
Paul
Bench scoring - Anderson and Gordon

IMO if we push for it we may be able to get Ariza, Capela. Wonder if the Rockets are enough under the cap where they can absorb the difference in salaries.

Capela
Porzingis
Ariza
Baker
Ntilikina

Two way starting 5 that can defend
Bench scoring - Hernangomez, Thomas, Lee.

As messed up as it is a celts/cavs/knicks scenario is best...

Crowder Zeller nets pick next year to NY

Love to Boston

Melo the Clev.

I find it hard to believe MDA wants to coach Melo again. I know Chris Paul is Melo's boy but I just don't see how the Rockets are in the mix or how Harden, Paul and Melo could co-exist.

Something is amiss. Josh Jackson didn't want to play here

I think other players are wondering how they can be a star in Boston.

Teams current scheme is IT hogs the ball and everyone else scraps.

Personally, I think Ainge should've drafted Fultz or Ball and transitioned away from IT by next year. He has now boxed himself in a corner where they are going to have to give IT a max deal and they are going to regret it.
