Knicks · To me Willy G>Kp (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 7/6/2017 4:35 PM
I'm a kp fan . I wanted to draft him-- he's a good kid with great skills
But I think Willy G has a more efficient upside wilG is a better passer more efficient scorer better rebounder and while both have some -and + on D Willy has a frame that is going to last.
The problem? I'm not sure together that they balance each other well. That is the only reason why I would've entertain a trade for pick 3 this year-- we have a great big and a fine back up with oquinn.
J Jackson would've given us balance

Now that's done and we move 4 ward but the big thing I want to see-- can willy g and kp co exsist and flourish? I'm not sure

Oh look, Briggs figured out a way to post another Porzingis for Josh Jackson thread.

JH will spend a lot,of the upcoming season figuring that out. KP is way more comfortable protecting the paint then guarding the perimeter. What has to happen is KP & Willy are going to have to own the paint and impose their will. Probably won't happen consistently until maybe the season after next. But want to see flashes of it next season.

You should get more sleep.

Briggs you post some good stuff man but the KP hate lately is kinda annoying.
nixluva @ 7/6/2017 5:43 PM
I just can't understand the impatience when it comes to KP. I LOVE WILLY but KP has unreal upside. KP is gonna get to another level once he fills out. A lot of KP's issues are strength related. He was so underdeveloped coming into the league that most didn't expect him to contribute for YEARS!

KP willed himself into a role ahead of his physical development. His body hasn't caught up to his talent yet but that could change next season.

But that might be the problem. He has played a bit to much before really being ready for it, and he has now become prone to injuries because his body is not 100% ready. I really fear for his injury problems and how the will be in the future. He has a fantastic talent, but he needs to be nursed or else his career will end way to soon or be way to problematic.

His response will write itself.

'I don't hate him I just worry about his health and Josh Jackson is a better fit...'

I don't share this fear. The work KP is doing this summer will advance his physical growth considerably from last season. It's not unusual to see a kid make huge growth strides in one summer at 21 or 22 yrs old. KP is at that stage where his natural maturation is kicking in.

MG22 @ 7/6/2017 6:13 PM
That is also why I'm not to pleased that he will go on and play the Eurobasket 2017. He should be working on his Physics instead. Normally I wouldn't mind players playing for their national team, but right now his body needs work and rest, and not to play even more games. Remember he only played 66 games last year due to injury problems.

another briggs taking a dump thread.
PhilinLA @ 7/6/2017 7:24 PM
Um, no he's not. He's a year older and got drafted a round and a half later. People with professional level evaluation skills made those evaluations. Those same people were not willing to spend half a mill and bring Willy over a year earlier. If he was better or had more upside than the Unicorn, they would have.
WaltLongmire @ 7/6/2017 8:21 PM
Briggs' hatred of the Latvian people is now casting a shadow on KP.

Sad...very sad.

Yup.

You wanted to draft KP, come on now, you're acting like nobody was on these boards around that time cause you were wanting many things like for us to take W.C Stein or to trade down and draft F.Kaminsky and so on so stop.

At the 5? Yes. All around player and potential ceiling? No way.

Willy is a higher skilled Mozgov. And thats not an insult.

The way i remember it was Kaminsky just like it was Josh Jackson this year. Its not a big deal man. Hell I originally wanted Deangelo Russell badly

What does any of this mean? So why didnt these people bring Nikola Jokic over--youre going to tell me KP is even close to him? Thats what I see from Willy --hes going to be a version of Jokic. I like KP==but I think hes stuck in between positions--I have no doubt he can be really really good--there is no argument on that--I just think Willy has more upside in a winning environment--what he does well he does in an efficient way. His upside is very high.
