Portland gets: ariza
Nop gets: capela,Anderson
Knicks get: cousins, harkless

Nop dose it cause they already know cousins is gone at the end of the year, it's like amare and melo with Anthony and cousins it just doesn't work. And they like Anderson but getting capela is the gem of the deal for them.

Knicks get to experiment with a KP , cousins front court if it doesn't work we walk away from boggie.

Cousins,Willy,Noah
KP,oquin,lance
Harkless,lance,kuz
Timmy,lee,Dotson
Frank,baker,Randal

There's no way in hell New Orleans is trading Cousins so fast and for that little.

No, the crux of the deal seems to be Melo to Houston, Houston then send Anderson ($20mil per x3) to blazers who then send out Harkless and Meyers. The sticking point is we want Harkless ($9mil per x 3) but not Meyers and his salary ($10mil per x 3), hence the need for a 4th team to take on Meyers.

Basically we'd end up with Harkless, some cap relief ($10 to $16mil per year) and maybe a pick from Houston or blazers depending on how much Anderson is values.

I think Houston will wind up having to give up more than Anderson to get Melo.
Can't see any team value Anderson enough to warrant enough of a return for us for Melo.

I was just speculating...I just read and posted an article that explains the hold up....Thanks!

It's easy to speculate that Portland is definitely the 3rd team, willing to take Anderson and move possibly Harkless to the knicks. Now they are trying to find a home for Leonard i'm guessing.

Exactly, i think this is the most likely scenario.

Thanks for posting this. I like that the Knicks are focusing on guys 25 and under. I wonder if Andeson is the player that is causing the need for a fourth team.

my guess is that it's not necessarily Anderson but the pieces that Anderson are traded for. If it's Portland, the Knicks would probably keep Harkless but not want Meyers and have told Morey to find a home for him.

fitzfarm @ 7/12/2017 1:54 PM
I like the nuggets as the 4th team

Houston gets:melo
Denver gets:Lenard,ariza
Portland gets:Anderson
New York gets: harkless, mudiay, and faried

It works via trade machine

KP,Oquinn,Noah
Willy,faried,lance
Harkless,lance,kuz
Timmy,lee,Dotson
Frank,baker,mudiay

stanleybostitch @ 7/12/2017 2:05 PM
I think we'll see an expanded trade with Lee and/or KOQ involved. Needed to get others to take contracts we don't want and maybe score more picks.
dacash @ 7/12/2017 2:14 PM
how about detroit getting in the mix, anderson played for svg might be good with drummond like lewis and howard used to be

That's an interesting pure guess entirely out of thin air.

I think it's reasonable to say that the longer you wait, the more the chance of a deal falling apart.

Nah, total generalization.

It's just a matter of logic. If a deal is finalized at noon, it is done. If it's 12:01 and the deal isn't finalized, another minute for the deal to fall apart has happened. That's not to say the Knicks shouldn't hold out for the best offer but each moment they wait *is* a gamble.

No it isn't. You're referring to a deal largely agreed upon in principle. We don't know if that applies to this "deal." The time may be required to find the principle of any deal.

Agreed upon in principle is nice but anyone can back out at any moment until everything is signed.

There may be nothing to back out of is the point.

They may need the time to arrive at that.

Bleacher Report saying Cavs still trying to trade for Melo.

Detroit will offer Reggie Jackson we shouldn't want any parts of him....

If they aren't trading love, what could they offer? If we are really after the 25 and under crowd, RJ, Frye, doesn't make any sense...If they do offer Love, I would flip him to a team that may want him for draft picks and young assets...

I just like the fact that we're creating somewhat of a mini bidding war. Better than the buy-out option (at least I hope it will be).

yes this. Knicks should be offering Melo and some possible combo of Lee, Noah, KOQ and Lance to make the parts work. All the vets should be on the table so long as young players and picks are coming back.

I know its light years away but I would be open a couple far out unprotected firsts from Cle if I didnt get Love back (or he went somewhere else with assets coming back to us)

Cle would be dumb.. when Bron leaves next year Kyrie and Love are a good starting point to build a team around. Melo and parts not so much.

That would be really smart but I don't think Presidents/GMs think that way. They know they may be gone by then.

This works in our favor if we are smart. Let the two teams who want him bid against each other and take the best possible deal.
