Mills would be President, Griffin GM.

They don't need to do this. It does nothing but set it back in the direction. Creating conflicting ideologies it is not conducive for flow.

You think Mills is hiring someone whose beliefs conflict with his own? Should team presidents just never hire GMs?

MEH! Mills would still veto any move that was considered destructive to what they've already started to build. Griffin like any GM would be building on top of the New Core but he'd need time to actually see these guys perform to assess what he thinks they need to do to improve even more. That said KP, Willy, THJ, Nitty, Dotson, Baker are pretty much the base he's starting from until we see if the Melo trade happens and there's a few new additions.

This is NY it doesn't work like that one thing you don't get in NY is time. Every hire comes with a shelf life of two to three years. This is what keeps setting the franchise back all the time. For once just promote from within and move forward. It works it lessens resentment with the one already here.

We're gonna have a pretty new team with a lot of developing players. The expectations on a new GM will not be the same
minus a win now player like Melo. Day one the new GM comes in and says he's going to evaluate the team and determine what if any changes need to be made and preparations for the future in terms of adding assets.

Isiah got 4 1/2 years. You can be bad for about 3 to 5 years in NY but not longer than that. You shouldn't get more than that anyway.

Has Mills said he is making this hire? Is he already confirmed as president?
