Can someone tell me if sign and trade is still an option for either Rondo (Bulls sign and trade to Knicks for players) or Rose (Knicks sign Rose and trade him to Milwaukee).
Not sure if sign and trade is no longer an option
no, the knicks can NOT sign and trade derrick rose, because they renounced his rights prior to the hardaway/baker signings.
well, we lost our bird rights to Derrick Rose by rescinding it to sign Tim Hardaway JR
unless we do not take back salaries or less salaries by trading CA and whatever contracts we get back, we are unable to sign/trade for anyone
though we still have other pieces we can use like Lee/Lance Thomas etc...
thing is about CA, we can lose him for nothing if he opts out and he can become a toxic player if he wants to
it is probably more likely that we are looking to trying to get a better deal than what is offered for CA
We simply have no use for Ryan Anderson with our roster but I think many teams could actually use his skill set as a stretch 4/5
Thing is a has a 3year 20mill per year deal that we do not want to take back along with Meyers Leanard
IF WE MUST take back a contract like Ryan Anderson, we should get back 2 1st rounders and change
Portland's 2 draft picks look like they can play, a reason they might not want to take Ryan Anderson after consideration
Caleb Swanigan and possibly a steal in Zach Collins as well
Portland has a high salary though, they eventually will likely trade some players to offload tax/salaries...

Had the Jazz retained G-Heyward's rights prior to his Boston signing? If so -- why wouldn't they just have matched the offer or is that a different situation between restricted/unrestricted? Get confused on this crap sometimes.
Hayward was unrestrcited. Otto and THJ were restricted.

And Bulls can't sign Rondo and trade him to us for say KOQ/KUZ package?

Right but they were still talking about a potential sign/trade between Utah/Boston.

Rondo was waived/bought out so that the Bulls didn't need to opt-in to his $13M deal
Can't see teams wanting to do sign and trades for either Rondo or Rose as contract length would need to be 3 years minimum
