We couldn't even get Kennard straight up for Melo.
I can see him agreeing to play for the Spurs or Lakers. Not that either will be willing to give up anything of value to us.

1) why on earth does Melo go to Detroit to play with R-Jackson of all people?
2) why does Detroit give up Kennard (Top 15 pick, Harris, Leur and Johnson for washed out Melo - especially considering right now we are basically getting M-Harkless and nada in proposed Houston deal?

If he would waive the NTC there would be multiple teams wanting to trade for him. It sure would be nice to be hearing all the teams and their offers for Melo instead of hoping we could at least get a draft pick for him while not taking back too bad of a player on a bad contract.

maybe Reggie Jackson or Brandon Knight are some "attainable" pieces, as they have been in a lot of "rumors" both with CA *multi team trade* or even others with combinations of Lance Thomas/Courtney Lee/ Kyle O Quin, maybe Chasson Randle

No.
He'd be waiving it for a specific transaction and a specific transaction only. If the transaction doesn't occur, it goes back into effect. ,
