So after all his social media posts showing how much stronger he's getting,

here are the most recent photo's from todays practice- he looks no different! In fact his arms look even thinner!

Looks a lot beefier to me

Definitely looks more defined in muscles in the arms
But it's all about the base for him
He needs to gain leg and core strength so he isn't pushed off easily in the block

He's 21, 7'3 and does a ton of cario a day.. what were you expecting?

He should not be bulking up. He should be doing basic strength training. Just lift weights like in the pics. KP at this age will not be able to gain significant weight and that should not be the goal.

Look at Kevin Garnett over the years and come back to me. Dirk. Camby. KP is looking good to me.

I agree, but I would also like to see KP to work on strengthening his shoulders as well. Its been my experience that its more important on a Bball court than developing "guns".

I think you may underestimate just how much mass it takes to make a kid as skinny and underdeveloped as KP look much bigger. He's not trying to make Mr. Olympia. He's trying to gain functional strength. Some guys like KG just aren't going to get MASSIVE like Shaq or even DeAndre. Doesn't mean KP won't be stronger and more fit than in the previous 2 season. What's the rush really?

There is a recent youtube video, and there you can see he is 240 pounds.

To gain weight he should have special diet, i do not know what is his diet today

I'm not in a rush, i was just surprised because of the way KP was going on about working out and building up his biceps on his social media- then you see these photos and he looks maybe even thinner than I remember!

I worry that it seems like he's doing his own regime this summer, whereas i'd rather he followed the teams plan for him. Wasting time boxing and trying to build up his biceps (these are vanity things that players often go for), when he could be focusing on other areas that would be of more use at this stage of his development.

Nalod @ 7/17/2017 12:38 PM

What He is doing will help his rebounding, his tip in's and reduce fatigue which has to help his shooting.
Knickoftime @ 7/17/2017 12:41 PM
I love basketball and I get intense interest in trades and FA signings and the draft and even to a lesser degree summer league.

But concern about the specific off-season workout regimes of players?

That's a bridge too far.

When you see his tone in his arms that's a big step forward and he seems to be doing a lot of core exercises, he looks a lot stronger, I shouldn't have used the word beefy.

He looks like he's getting in the best shape of his life. He already held his own somewhat as a skinny kid with zero tone vs opposing centers. Now with this added strength via arm and core/legs... I think we see a kid with a lot more endurance this year.

anrst @ 7/17/2017 12:54 PM
i would be more alarmed if he looked noticeably bulkier
Nalod @ 7/17/2017 4:56 PM
Go look up Jabbar, Wilt, Russell, Sabonis, Reed, Walton, Ewing, Hakeem and notice at age 21 they are pretty skinny dudes.
Im fine with KP NOT bulking up. Let his body grow naturally.
franco12 @ 7/17/2017 5:45 PM
he's probably 3 years away from being as strong as we'd like him to be - and that is because he's 21, and his body has to catch up with where he is trying to get to.

KP also strikes me as the kind of guy as soon as he has to do lots of cardio like playing a basketball game, his weight drops a bit. He will never be 260+ in my opinion.

However if he can get up to 250 at some point, that would be great. That's the size of an athletic strong power forward. I don't want him to get much bigger than that, to be honest.

Tremendous torso length --- but not much in leg department.
