It shows that NY started to look a tad better without Phil and Melo probably leaving soon. KP helps too of course. Maybe Perry is a good sign of things to come? He already seems pretty head strong on not giving up Melo for nothing. Phil would have probably traded Melo to Houston already.

Seriously, what player doesn't consider NY and then turn us down? This isn't really progress (which implies it's new). It's basically been the continuous story of the past 10 or more years.
The Knicks were certainly being talked about as a team that would not be able to get free agents because of Phil/triangle. But I wonder if Kyrie knows Dolan would give him the super max in two years. That might be the main motivation to play for the Knicks.

I would assume anyone that trades for Kyrie would expect to do the same.
Is he still eligible for super max? I've heard cinfilicting information. That only the team that drafted said player can offer the super max. Like Paul George lost his ability to get supermaxed once he was traded.
No one wants to pkay in the triangle. As soon as Phil was gone, the team started looking more attractive. A team of Irving, Hardaway, Thomas, KP, and Willy would actually be pretty solid and could surprise if Willy and KP made improvements to their games this summer.
Knicks are looking better but Kyrie is from New Jersey maybe he wants to play for his hometown.
