Not sure if this as anything to do with N upcoming Melo deal.
So they finally get their man. Crabbe owes the Nets for that huge contract. I wonder if this means that Lin is a goner.
I laugh at how the media said Tim Jr's contract was the worst of the off season and a huge overpay and how stupid we are, but they now say the nets acquiring Crabbe (worse player and higher contract) is a genius move.

The coach loves Lin. But he might bring something back that fits better with their timeline.

Why would Lin be a goner?

lol right when you think the knicks are like the jets, the nets always make me feel better.
crabbe is a awful player lol i can't believe this guy makes more then THJR.
Blazers have to have something else up their sleave, otherwise it's not great- they matched the contract last year, then ended up moving him for no assets and having to stretch the player they got back leaving a $3mil audience ear cap hit for 7 years

It definitely is biased coverage. The Knicks would be scorched if they made a trade like the Lakers did for Russell. The Nets dd move Nicholson's contact and Crabbe waived his trade kicker so this wasn't a horrible move for the nets. I like both Hardaway and Crabe as moves where a gm saw a guy he wanted and went and got him.

They need more parts and now they have 3 guards in Lin, Russell and Crabbe. Russell and Crabbe are big gets and Lin can bring them back a good player in another position.
I know I am going to get roasted for this but a trade for Lin and Whitehead for Lance Thomas and KOQ would benefit both teams. Lin can be the PG that can mentor Frank.

lol yea the knicks are awful to pay a better player in THJR less money then crabbe, but what a amazing move by the nets lol crabbe is a terrible player he is the definition of a one trick pony.

If Melo is gone this can be a possibility.
Some Lin haters will have a heart-attack
This could be the precursor to a potential trade involving Melo, Houston and Portland. Who knows how it will shake out but perhaps this is the beginning.
The suspense is killing me!

"Portland will see their current luxury tax bill drop from $48.3M to $4.4M"
$44m ... a year ... in their pockets isn't great?

My point is they could have accomplished that by not matching last offseason- now they have an extra $3mil for no gain. Unless they pull off a melo related deal with the rockets

So the net is they just swallowed a mistake for $21M?
How many shooting guards and small fwds do the Nets need?
Wow not one draft pick. That's embarrassing.
He is a bench player and they just took on that contract. I guess they will do anything to save the embarrassment of handing over another 1 pick.

No, they made a terrible 2016 deal.
But a great 2017 one.
