Great win. Next up Indians .... Justice will be served
That was great. I hope Severino can calm down. I'm curious what the playoff pitching rotation will be.
The good news with Severino's early ouster is that he can pitch again, possibly in game 2 or even as early as game 1.
The Yankees have solid D and a lot of pop - plus some great grit from the bullpen. This team can make some noise.

Is that good news or bad news? I guess we have to hope he can calm down and pitch better.
The kid got the yips. This team is on schedule and now gets to learn from a full series.
Severino got some lessons to learn and the "Yips" are a factor.
The story is not his outing, its the strength of our ball pen to have only given up one run after.
And our offense that scored 8 runs!!!!

Yeah it was an incredible performance by the bullpen and our hitters.
I also loved it when Santana threw at Gardner's head (I'm sure by accident) and Gardner stared at him. Then he hit that bullet into the upper deck and took a little extra time just admiring it.
Taking one from the Mets playbook, they might want to get him out there right away just so he gets this out of his system. He may have been trying to throw 110mph and it messed with his mechanics.
Hopefully he can get through a scoreless inning and be fine. If he gives up early runs again... could mess up this young pitcher's psyche!

with a bullpen like that, im not too worried.. the post season is usually all about the bull pen..
severino will definitely get it together, the last time he had a bad game, he was lights out the next 6 starts

True but I think it will be a lot harder to get the runs back after a bad start against Cleveland.
Gray is pitching game 1?! I'm not sure I trust him but I see he's pitched much better on the road than at home. I guess this makes some sense.
Wow. Cleveland is good! This year, just being in the playoffs is a bonus for us. Expectations are going to be high next year though.
IDK about Gray. I hope he can get it together. He's giving up so many walks and HRs.

they are really, really good. we'll be lucky to win one against them. that said, I expect Houston to win the AL
I'm just hoping we can steal a game. If we somehow pushed it to game 5, fantastic!
Cleveland has a legit shot of winning it all this year. Glad the baby bombers are getting some post season exposure. Hopefully Severino in particular gains from the experience.
Would like to see Romine get a start at C and move Sanchez to DH. Maybe a little contradictory to the experience comment, but a lot of balls in the dirt last night. Wasn't an easy job, but Gary's got to get better at stopping them.

I don't think CC is so hard to catch that they would need to do that. He doesn't throw a lot of hard, moving pitches in the dirt.
Bam! Made Kluber look really bad.
CC looked rusty early on, but a great performance by him tonight. Would've like to see Joe leave him in there for the rest of the 6th (as I write this, Green gives up the double)
Which is the bigger mistake, Torre not pulling his guys from the field in the gnat game, or Giradi not having the "hit batter" reviewed?
Yeah horrible decision by Girardi.
With Miller coming in they should pinch hit for Ellsburry.
Question answered. Yankees win tonight, they've got to feel good hoping home. They lose tonight in this fashion, they have no shot at this series - and that's squarely on Joe's shoulders.

Torreyes shoulders too now. Ugh
Wow. Go ahead run on second with nobody out and the top of the order... picked off after straying too far.
