I'm not going to give the FO too much credit for KP, because he was the best left in his class when he was select(a straight no brainer), yes they did a solid job with willy, but I can say the same thing about landry fields, and tony douglas who had very solid rookie seasons..BUT WHAT HAPPEN TO THEM THE FOLLOWING SEASONS?
I'm pretty optimistic about franks potential, I just have little faith in the development process.

frank would have gotten booed too, but since the knicks did a good job with their previous foreign pick, they spared them..
people are scared off by the unknown, and unless you did some diligent research on either of those players, the avg person is going to be like who the fck is this guy?

I think there are other guys that got drafted after Frank who will be in the league for a long time. As I said pre-draft, if the Knicks went with Frank I will defer to the scouts. But I have no idea if Frank is a good payer or not. I'm going off of articles and youtube highlights. I don't think anyone's opinion on Frank here means all that much because well they haven't actually seen him in a full game

Smith showed good PG skills and command during the summer league. We will see if he is just a stat producer or a guy that runs his team effectively. But I will admit I liked what I saw of him as a PG during the summer league. But you are 100% correct in the observation of how so many teams were willing to pass on him. Lakers chose Ball, Boston chose Tatum, Suns chose Jackson, Sac chose Fox. Magic chose Isaac, Chi chose Markkennen. But *only* the Knicks have been the highlighted as the team that passed on Smith. And have taken a lot of shots during the summer league as THE team that passed on Smith. So out of the AAU circuit all these teams were willing to take other AAU prospects over him. But the Knicks are the suckers for picking the one(out of 2, Marrkkenn) non AAU prospects over him.
Frank Nitti was Al Capone cousin and thought to be in control when Capoine was incarcerated.

We should have a good idea of what Frank brings to the table by the All-Star break. Even then its early. Give the kid time before you decalre him a bust.

to me you have to see improvement over the course of the season, that would indicate 3 things
1)his work ethic is solid
2)coaching staff is doing a good job developing him
3)the FO is putting the right players around him

defining my use of the term crap shoot, is basically stating there isn't enough evidence to determine if this player has the ability to max out is potential of even live up to it.
the core (curry, klay, and green) of the GSW HAS GIVEN MORE CREDIT TO MARK JACKSON, THEN STEVE kerr in helping them develop and playing smart

Everybody had a chance to pick Smith, one of the older players chosen in the lottery, I think, and about 2 years older than our guy. Are they up in arms over THEIR team not choosing him, since he seems to be a lock for ROY?

That would've been true no matter who they picked, including Smith.
I think Smith would have been called the steal of the draft no matter who took him. But it would have been interesting. Is he considered the nextSteve Francis if the Knicks take him?
Smith was on my short list, but I preferred Frank and Isaac above him. Did put Smith above Monk, by the way.
By the way...you can't call anyone the steal of the draft until they have played a few seasons...You can predict that they will be the steal of the draft, but for all any of us know Ntilikina will be the steal of this draft in 3 years.

Look, berman wrote the article, i posted the article because im sure we are all hoping frank turns out great.
Now because i said i would be livid (like thousands of other fans) if he turns out to be trash, one guy say's thats ignorant statement, another guy brings up kp's votes, i don't know what im talking about.
