Knicks · Vegas counting us down and out AGAIN (page 2)

Our unknowns as of now--and maybe Knickstime can help us out on this--is CA going to be a Knick or not??? We have size with KP Willy Noah and Oquinn--maybe some more discipline on defense more length and perhaps better 3 point shooting. One area Im not sure we improved on too much are players who can make plays with the dribble or take it off the dribble. Sessions can take it a bit--but is he a top 10 guy?? We certainly have a ton of spot up shooters--maybe too much??? But 500-1 in the east is high and seems like a nice speculative play
Sure, I can help out with this.

Wow
We go through this crap every year and we still stink. None of our starters would be starting for any playoff team and even prozingus. We have a team worst than last years team. Wishful thinking. We will need 3 top 2 draft picks for the next 3 years to compete. That's how the Golden State got there and many other teams with the exception of San Antonio. It's the New York culture. When we bash players like Melo and then Lebron and Darant come to his defense along with other top players who say don't go to New York. We blame Dolan but New York does not have the patients to wait. Now I was for the Melo trade to come to New York but hell we had a good young team and we gave up everything to get Melo. I was not for that. If we would have kept that team together and added a few pieces they would have been around for a while and maybe went to the finals.

his opinion changed when we added Beasley and Sessions. Beasley was a good get but unless he turns into Durant even winning a playoff series seems like longer than 500-1 odds

Two guys the whole league passed on? They each add 10 wins or something? I like both of them but I wouldn't make a serious win total adjustment because of them.
1)This would mean willy and KP would have not improve, but in fact regressed
2)This would mean the knicks suck(like I've been saying) at developing talent, so why would you want to bring more under this coaching staff/regime
3)This would mean JH is nothing more then a avg to below avg coach
4)this would mean mills,(who originally help build the BS roster) has no idea how to put a winning culture in place
5)this would mean the triangle had nothing to do with the losing
6)this officially would mean Melo really sucks
7)this would mean rose lack of passing really wasn't the problem
8)this would mean kp (in his 3rd yr) is still far from being a franchise player, if ever
you want to talk about gsw
Curry 7th pick- kp 4th pick
klay 11th pick- frank 8th pick
green 35th pick- willy 35th pick
so over the last 3 yrs we have essentially picked better than Gsw and we still are light yrs away from their level...Go mills

There is no one set way to build a contender. Hard to precisely duplicate the path other teams took. Its more organic. Would rather the Knicks tried winning by being trend setters, not followers. A new wrinkle. Thats what GS did.
It starts with culture.

The blueprint is to get 3 top 2 picks. GSW really screwed up selecting Curry at #7. They needed more top 2 picks.

The Knicks are literally just starting this season with KP 22, Willy 23 and Nitty 19! It's a bit premature to judge at this stage to be trying to compare them to Golden State. I mean at least try to be reasonable. Can we even see one season of these kids playing together first???
Besides the Knicks are on their own Timeline and there's no way to do a one to one comparison. The Knicks also will be built differently than GS given that KP and Willy are core pieces. The Knicks will by necessity play a different style and yes the Triangle will likely still be used to some extent.
Building this team will be a process of development and then adding around that core talent. The development phase is still only 2 yrs in since KP finished 2nd season and Willy his 1st. IT'S EARLY BRUH!

Man, this the post of someone who doesn't even know what his own argument is. But this bit of silliness was most humorous.

Curry 7th pick- kp 4th pick
Curry's first three seasons:
26 wins
36 wins
23 wins (28 in a non-strike shortened season, per winning %).
I guess Curry won't ever be a franchise player.

Knicks1248 only cares about his own instant satisfaction of seeing the Knicks win immediately. He will try to finesse it to look like its whats best for the Knicks. But at the end of the day its only to feed his own desire for immediate satisfaction.

There's a dysfunction across the board, there isn't any rose pedal glasses that's going to change that.
what's the TIMELINE, run KP and willy and your so call "bright young guys" through some lottery miserably seasons, and think they are going to re-up with you.. No one is going to buy what you sell if it has been proven to work
, no matter how much they like you.
I do see EARLY, i know when to cut my losses when i see BS on the horizon. The projections are not great by anyone, fans, media, whoever. Too much melo drama, kp drama, high profile players with off court drama.
Can't go to camp like that..ALL OUTSIDE DRAMA must end by media day. Any idiot By now could see that if MELO really wanted to leave he would have open up his list so he would be able to go to camp with the prefered team.
SO SHUT THOSE stupid ass trade talk rumors, nobody wants to be answering those fckng question everytime a mic is their face. Cut all the drama out so people can focus, kill the damn triangle talk, talk winning now, not process, and we'll see. Thats a straight loser mentality in sports..Sounding like the JAguars lockerroom

If the Knicks aren't contenders (or a playoff team) do you believe its wrong to try and enjoy the season anyway? No one on this board expects us to make GS pee in their collective pants next season, not even Nix.
Still will be happy to see a team progressing. Thats all I want next season, a team heading in the right direction. Too early to tell how much progress will be made, if any. Enough has changed over the summer not to be creating drama over the possible outcome.
Try to enjoy the ride, otherwise what is the point?

curry played hurt in one season, and missed 3 qtrs of another, not to mention curry had no melo type player on his team, and played without klay for one of those season. Im comparing the development
KP is a higher pick and is playing with a all star.
We lose more because of distractions and inconsistencies and not hiring the right people for the job, or putting people in the wrong roles, and that's president down to player.

progressions is winning right, or would would another 30 win season still mean we progressed.
I thought being better the next time is a sign of progress, or should i be thinking that 25 wins is progress

Are you High???
There's a dysfunction across the board, there isn't any rose pedal glasses that's going to change that.
what's the TIMELINE, run KP and willy and your so call "bright young guys" through some lottery miserably seasons, and think they are going to re-up with you.. No one is going to buy what you sell if it has been proven to work
, no matter how much they like you.I do see EARLY, i know when to cut my losses when i see BS on the horizon.
Try to enjoy the ride, otherwise what is the point?
progressions is winning right, or would would another 30 win season still mean we progressed.
I thought being better the next time is a sign of progress, or should i be thinking that 25 wins is progress
I'll enjoy the season when we are 500 or above
When you say ish like this, it makes me believe you want to be on an island. On what planet is another 30 wins progress? Apparently yours.
Still havent answered my question

This is where you continue to make your mistake, which is somewhat inexplicable because it's been pointed out to you many times.
Most of the projections - as you cite - are based on roster analysis computer models.
"Drama", "trade rumors" and systems don't factor in.
Sources like Pelton, ESPN, Fivethiryeight, and Vegas oddsmakers aren't raising their projections if the Knicks have a quiet focused camp.
Direct question: Do You understand that, right?

1)This would mean willy and KP would have not improve, but in fact regressed2)This would mean the knicks suck(like I've been saying) at developing talent, so why would you want to bring more under this coaching staff/regime
Curry 7th pick- kp 4th pick
klay 11th pick- frank 8th pick
green 35th pick- willy 35th pickso over the last 3 yrs we have essentially picked better than Gsw and we still are light yrs away from their level...Go mills

The Knicks haven't added a KD or some other proven high impact player! They're going to have to mostly make improvement from within and with some minor upgrades, meaning better but not high impact players like THJ, Beasley, Sessions and Nitty.
This roster should be a bit more efficient on Offense and tougher on D. However no Superstar was added. The Knicks have to grow their own Stars and as they improve then the Knicks will be a FA destination.

How exactly do you think this season will pay out based on how we're going in?
