Can't believe the wait is almost over. Its time to commit you wisdom to a single number
Hang your ass lout there Ann's predict the win total for this season.

Don't cheat and put in a range of 10 games, what's the fun in that? All you have to lose is your ego. So go for it and take a stand.

I am going with 32 wins

Your turn

TPercy @ 10/15/2017 6:11 PM
27 wins.
EnySpree @ 10/15/2017 6:13 PM
32 is about right...

If they win 38 they might make the playoffs in the east

reub @ 10/15/2017 6:24 PM
30 glorious, no-Melo, passing the ball, trying on defense, rebuilding for real, Doncic-acquiring wins!
meloshouldgo @ 10/15/2017 6:25 PM
I actually think it's kinda optimistic. My low end projection is around 25 wins. 32 is my top end
I don't think we will outscore other teams, unless the defense starts to come together very quickly we ain't wining much.
nychamp @ 10/15/2017 6:27 PM
24 wins.
CrushAlot @ 10/15/2017 6:58 PM
Wow. Is that the pic from the hang your ass thread when D'Antoni was coaching? I think Champ has it right. 24 wins.

I always was putting 29.
So 29 again.
markvmc @ 10/15/2017 8:06 PM
I usually go about 34-35. Think I'll be optimistic this year and say 38.

I def thought of Oohah when clicking this thread.

I'm gonna go 23.....that puts in the running for Doncic. That will also mean our youngsters are getting heavy doses of minutes.
ekstarks94 @ 10/15/2017 9:25 PM
29
GoNyGoNyGo @ 10/15/2017 10:04 PM
I have been optimistic the past few seasons and this year I want to be because Melo is gone and I would think the team will play harder and be more together.

That being said the D looked bad in preseason and the offense was not as fluid as it should be losing a ball stopper. I think Hardaway will be good enough. I am not sure KP can handle being the focus of opposing D’s.

I am going with 30 and hopeful for more. I want to se progress above all else. Progress for KP, Willy Dotson and frank.

No playoffs and a top 5 pick would be great. A playoff birth and experience is what I will root for!!

This has to be one of the toughest seasons to try and predict. For one thing the team is in a rebuild mode and it's not 100% about winning as if this was a Win Now team. The other problem is that we never got to see some of the key players healthy for any extended time in Preseason. We don't even know what the Starting Lineup is going to be.

I don't put take much from the Preseason at all cuz it's not even close to how the team is likely to look in the regular season. Despite the poor D I do think that Jeff will be able to put a competitive team on the floor. They may start off a likely shaky and inconsistent but I think that the team will come together and improve as the season goes along.

I like the MOXY of KP, THJ, Willy, Kanter, McDermott, Sessions, Nitty, CLee, Baker, Beasley and Dotson! I don't know how much Nitty and Dotson will play but I hope they get significant minutes. LT, Jack, Noah and Kuz are guys that probably end up with inconsistent minutes.

I'm still optimistic about this young team. I think they can win between 36 and 41 games depending on health.

Panos @ 10/15/2017 11:07 PM
Not a win over 22.
franco12 @ 10/15/2017 11:54 PM
I have to think we get off to a really slow start, and at some point, start to play better. But 28 wins is about where I see us ending up. Just good enough to screw ourselves out of a good draft pick, and bad enough that we're never in serious contention for a play off spot.
Caseloads @ 10/16/2017 12:04 AM
18 wins. Book it.

Tons of conflict in place for this season.

In general, the West got stronger and the top teams got even more loaded. The East generally got weaker. Bottom tier Western teams will tank sooner, they are going to get the crap kicked out of them. They will try to sell to Eastern teams. Since the lower tier of the East will be hit or miss, since there are more mediocre teams, and then many teams will have executives fighting to keep their jobs, more lower tier Eastern teams, finding it tough to "naturally " tank might stay in the playoff hunt for that 7th or 8th seed.

Worst position for the Knicks to be in is to be close to that 8th seed, and Mills, trying to save his job, demands Dolan that the Knicks are buyers at the deadline. Also Hornacek is coaching either to keep this job or to audition for his next one, so as long as he has some kind of talent on the roster he's going to try to win. The 'natural' tank would require trading off veterans, then having core guys sitting on minor injuries. Given more teams will be cap locked moving forward, I don't think Lee and O'Quinn are slam dunks to get traded.

For the future, the Knicks need to tank, but Mills and Hornacek have no incentive to tank. Which is why they both should have been removed earlier. Just like Jackson should have been removed one year earlier ( and the team could have avoided the Rose/Noah mess)

26 wins. Many wins coming late in the season as Hornacek, if he lasts that long, wants to keep his job.

Even if it's a wash trade (i.e no positive assets for Lee or OQuinn), it should be done as soon as possible. Give Hornacek nothing to work with and this forces a natural tank. A team might not pay a true asset for Lee, but maybe an expiring deal would work.

As the losses pile up, Zinger has not shown the maturity to give confidence he won't leave the first chance he gets.

Too many factors to generate useless wins instead of outright tanking.

26 Wins.
