Knicks · Semi OT: this new rule is changing the NBA almost as much as hand checking did (page 1)

The new only a shooting foul if your in a shooting motion is huge.....HUGE, change to the NBA. It’s going to change the star players, Lebron went to the line once vs the knicks in 39 minutes ! Even guys like harden,Durant, wade, melo. May only go to the line 6/7 times tops opposed to 14 plus times this is huge! Last night there were at least 5 plays that last year would have resulted in LBJ or wade going to the line that’s a potential 10 point difference in the game that didn’t happen!

I love this new rule! No more get contact and chuck up a shot to get to the free throw line, less acting and more playing!

Yeah you notice it right away. Gives the defenders back their freedom. I feel it levels the playing field

Love the traveling and illegal pick calls too.

Yeah you can actually play defense again. Fouls are an important aspect of defense. When you do it before a shot that player shouldn’t be gifted Free Throws.

It’s amazing, it makes the game fun on both sides again, while speeding it up.

I also noticed that the refs have been pretty lax on hand checking. Maybe they are trying to make defense relevant again!

They're calling traveling? On what, the fourth or fifth step?

I guess this means there are no more continuations. I am good with that.

This new rule is a huge improvement. I didn't like the elimination of the hand check though.
