"LiAngelo Ball and his two UCLA basketball teammates were freed from Chinese custody early Tuesday after President Donald Trump intervened on their behalf.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill had all boarding a Delta flight home after being detained for over a week. They slipped out of possibly serving up to ten years for allegedly stealing from a Louis Vuitton store in Hangzhou, China.
Trump spoke directly to Chinese President Xi Jinping about the players during his trip to Asia, and now they’re out less than 24 hours later."

Trump finally did something in his presidency that is tangible!
Will UCLA have the balls to suspend these kids?

I doubt it. But they definitely dodged a bullet trying that stuff overseas.

Fake News.

So the laws don't apply to those who can dodge bullets. Nice. Wonder if the Ball kid or the other two learned anything.

They learned they can shoplift without consequence.

They learned had they just been regular tourists and not UCLA basketball players they'd be in jail.
We also learned (not like it was clear without this) that all Americans are the same for China people except Trump and Marbs.
Not that I want these kids to suffer a career ending incarceration or anything but the whole "Ball" thing just reeks of excess bravado and while its one thing for it to be in the realm of consumerism or ESPN, but to further entitle another athlete that his talent as a player supersedes the law is wrong.
If UCLA had the stones, they'd suspend them. This was a crime committed not as a private citizen but on a school sponsored trip. That a bit different. This breaks a code of conduct.
Now, sunglasses is not rape, but a felony is a felony.
But if they are "Ballers", well you know, you above it!!!
Not a Lavar fan so Im jaded on this.

I believe that they robbed three high-priced stores in 90 minutes. Don't they know that you can only get away with that conduct here in the States?
