In my opinion:
Giannis, Lebron, Kyrie, Durant, Davis, Curry, Harden and westbrook, Townes and Kawhi.
Thats 10. There are 30 teams. GS has two.
How old were they when they were labeled as such? Did any of them have injuries? Stamina problems? Did we micro evaluate these guys as they were coming up? Did anyone doubt their status to reach "Franchise" player? Some of these guys were not drafted with that expectation. Giannis went 15th. Curry a two time MVP 6th.
Are we lapping the media selling "anger". Look at knicks1248 rants, they are based on "Knicks are not that good"!
No shyt, the play of the floor tells the story. Media and rants will tell you it never improves. Playing young guys won't get better, and we need stars. KP is putting up all star numbers. THATS THE ROAD TO BEING A FRANCHISE PLAYER.
How many are under the age of 25 when they got that label BONAFIDE?

Im raging on the "KP is no franchise player"!
Your question is my point. Lets discuss and define? Wall came in at age 19, Wiz been that good? He ever injured? Tired in his ascent to being an all star? Has his status been questioned along the way? "Would he ever mature"???
Knick fans don't know how to act because we have not has a homegrown all-star in sometime and media gets unimaginative fans angry.

Yeah you look the rest of the league and fans here would trash anyone but Lebron. Towns is a stud but Knicks fans would want him gone for his poor defense. There's very few guys who fans here would accept. Need to have consistent superstar performances in order to be accepted here. Porzingis shows it in spurts, but because he isn't doing it every day at age 22, many write him off. That being said, I think franchise player's need to be impact players on both ends. Not great, just impact. Right now:
Curry, Durant, Lebron, Giannis, Westbrook, Leonard, and Davis are there. Harden might be the one exception of a guy so good on offense that his defensive problems are acceptable. So that's 8 guys. Then there's a drop off. As for guys who can get there, I see Porzingis and Simmons has guys who can become great on both ends. Embiid too, but i still don't trust his injury history. But he can get there. Towns needs to become average defensively. We will see. So that's 4 guys who can get there.

KP's size is a huge concern long-term. I worry about him holding up. If KP plays center long term everything is great, he isn't as valuable at PF. I think his attitude could be a problem I still believe he will walk and leave us with nothing. I just hope when he leaves its in a year where we get a guy like Ayton, have you watched that guy dude is unreal

The promise of a kid transposed to the NBA is always attractive!
We all worry about KP, Philly with Embiid and NOLA with Davis. GS with Curry early on with ankle surgery, CP3 knee for some time, Kyrie was often hurt his first years......
Futures unknown. KP seems to be a team guy and now has to digest the lessons of being the no. 1 guy. He might not be it, but he'd be a hell of a no. 2. Surround him with goodness, or he surrounds another. Not bad things. Enjoy the ride!
His exit no show moved the franchise away from unhealthy presidency and a culture now normalized. Sometimes unintentional circumstances work out ok!
It all comes down to having a few really good players, the right role players, and a system that fits your talent.
I think for the knicks their problem is having talented players in the wrong roles, and a system that doesn't fit the roster. They struggle to bring in players that complement their best players

KP is absolutely a Franchise/Frenchfries player. For me a franchise player is someone you can build around and be competitive right away with. Dont think its a guy that can single handedly win a chip though. As we see today you need at least three All Stars to compete for a chip. It's now up to the FO to add other high level players to compliment KP. Just like we needed to do, and didnt, with Melo. KP still needs THREE more high level/All Star level players around him. Like Curry, Irving, Harden LBJ have. If we were true contenders, guys like Kanter and Lee would be coming off the bench and some of our guards would be either off the team or learning on the bench.
KP, although has much to improve, is definately a franchise player. Now if he keeps stinking up the place with his recent level of play then we trade him. ![]()
Other Frenh fries.. IMO include.
Harden, LBJ, Davis, Derozan, Irving, Embid, Simmons, Westbrook, Curry, KD, Freak, PG3, Booker, Leonard and Towns.
you guys look too much at points/rebs than real influence
