The best player is the guy the opposing team plans for, schemes for and sends doubles for. It's KP without question. When Beasley starts getting the KP treatment on defense by opposing teams, then you'll see him as our best player.
Beasley is our most effecive scorer right now without doubt. Because KP gets all the defensive attention and isn't getting those same easy looks he was early in the season. Every team treats KP like a MVP candidate. That's not my opinion, that's what a scout who watches the Knicks game has told me. They defend him completely different than in years past.
I promise you if we reversed KP and Beasley's role, Beasley got KP"s attention and defensive focus. the team would suffer and Beasley's numbers would be much much worse. Beasley is a perfect fit in the role he is in. He may finally have found his niche in the NBA. This is the right role for him. Don't confuse that with being the best player on a team that has another all-star.

Nice post. 🙄
So we need too continue to feature the dude so teams can stop completely keying in on KP. Everyone wants to show how smart they are... you throwing it out there that a scout told you something. Did the scout tell you the Knicks should play the guy more to get the pressure off KP? You don't need a "scout" to tell you anything. I can see the game just as good as any scout. This guys get it brutally wrong all the time. Regardless if teams are not playing Beasley the same way (which i agree for the record) it doesn't take away from the fact that the guy needs to be locked in at 30 minutes every night so the defense have to focus on him more.... that opens the whole floor for KP and now THJr since he's back

Come on man I rag on Porzingis and even I know on his worst day he looks like All NBA compared to Beasley defensively. Porzingis takes a lot of bad shots and doesn't pass as much as I'd like but he is an elite rim protector as a help defender.

Ok what about Kanter then since I clearly hurt your feelings since I dared to mention KP in the same sentence. Point is Beaaley seems to have a different set of rules placed on him by this coaching staff.
The true merit of Beas or KP will be found when the Knicks are good enough to go deep in the playoffs and play against superior defensive teams. GS shut down Cleveland last night in the 4th. KP is held in check by the Spurs and the Celtics among others. When we are an elite defensive team, we will shut down teams too. Beas is a solid offensive player but as the competition thickens what is he providing.

Sounds good but so ignorant at the same time. The Knicks need to use what they have. The spurs and boston could lock KP up but we have Beasley to counter that. We gotta force teams to stop them both while they are both on the court at the same time. We haven't taken advantage of that enough this year.
Fyi.... we beat Boston this year splitting the series 1-1 So far, so get off their shit. San Antonio swept us though. More cuz Aldridge took those games against KP personal.
He's had a nice stretch representing about 200 min of playing time. You have to view that in the context of a 12,000 minute career. We'll have to see whether this is random fluctuation or he really is a better player now.
Beas got a little Connie Hawkin's in him with his big hands and moves in the paint. Not quite, but good skills!
Beas off the bench for about 7 mil is good thing so long as he is happy. Starter minutes and salary is a stretch despite the "Starters skills". As mentioned he is lacking in BB IQ and lapses on defense in a major way.
Kudo's to the knicks for finding a way for him to be successful. Sometimes less is more.
He'll want JR smith Money. He is being paid Chris Smith money.
He really has looked pretty unstoppable out there. Huge change from the beginning of the season when he was lost out there.
He's actually made a number of quality passes and has been rebounding and one of the few guys that can get to the line.
Looks like he could turn into a very valuable 6th man off the bench. If I am Cleveland I would be all about trying to get Beas and KOQ. Nets lottery pick is not going to be as special as they thought and the knicks need younger cheaper assets that can turn into rotation players.
