I think Perry is going to be VERY active in trades! We have some nice players for a playoff team to snatch up. Gotta take advantage of this rare opportunity to get something for these guys. Aside from our kids they can all go.
There are other teams looking to sell as well. I don't think we have the leverage that most of us think we do. Lakers have much more to offer with Clarkson, Randle, etc.

Perry doesn't come across as a very active guy. Or maybe I should say it this way, he doesn't let others get over on him, which will reduce his trading activity. Perry seems like the patient but calculated type.
I agree this is a good time to take advantage of other organization fire sales, while unclogging the center position. So I could see Perry doing a small trade, but I would be VERY surprised if he pulls a block buster.

Looney and the Melo trade exception would work for me. A Gs 2nd rounder if it’s needed to make $$ work

We should try to keep OQuinn.
Kanter is not that valuable in today's NBA game.
He wouldn't start for any contender.
Kyle can be a backup on a contender.
We should sell Kanter before we lose him for nothing or we foolishly re-sign him for starter money. He's simply not a starter on a playoff contender in today's league. No outside shot can't block shots inside and mostly a post up guy. Great rebounding and teammate but that's worth 8-10M a year not starter money.

Obviously we are not privy to the details of what Perry wants to do. I like the idea of creating opportunities to "Get lucky".
To do so you need "at bats" for players with upside. That means you strike out or don't succeed when making a stretch. With more picks or "Projects" there is a wash out but then there are upside benefits. Today Briggs wants "ready made" for the NBA game. Its reasonable desire but at the same time it also comes from a frustration over the current state of the team. "Two years away from Two years" I believe he has said and does not want skinny players. I like that knicks are being patient and letting players grow. So if the plan is get younger guys with upside and was can trade BOTH Kanter and KOQ for picks/projects/EuroStash's then Im ok. I don't expect we succeed with each one. What is the ratio? 20%? 30%? 40%? 50%? If we want 4 really good players then we need 10 prospects! If 1st round picks yield 60% then get picks........I don't want Lou Williams, at least not yet. And If we let KOQ walk for cap space, that's OK too. Not sure what the market is or what is being offered so I can't speculate on definitive return.
