What's the overreaction? Pistons got better... Clippers have more to play with though. The trade is even.

Blake and Drummond is decent... they still have more work to do.

The real overraction is bothering me telling me I'm overreacting. Looks like you are the one over reacting

This is one heckuva trade. Im not sure where to start. I think the Clippers probably had the best of it--they didnt get waste players--they got good rotational players and potential top 10 pick for the best player in the deal--who happens to call out sick a lot. Pistons needs some shooting now

Clippers are retooling...good move for them. I am not a Blake fan, so I think LA got the better deal.

They don't have much NY would want ( I would want Tobias)...maybe Lou Williams but NY does not have anything LA would want. If they trade Jordan, maybe Kantner??

HofstraBBall @ 1/30/2018 11:53 AM
Clips made out well. IMO. But obvious rebuild move. Have a top pick in a strong draft. And a second pick to use as asset or try to hit the lotto with. Added solid player in Harris who just has one more reasonably priced year left. Bradley is expiring. Bobo has one year eft at only $7M and is a good bench guy. Oh and btw, they get rid of a huge contract. Blake, although worth the money if healthy, has shown that the contract was not such a good idea due to his injuries. Pistons really taking a chance. Yes, if healthy, Drummond and Blake are a great front court. But now who do you add to the squad to make it a deep team able to compete with Boston and Cavs. Think Clips won this.

Interesting trade and one that like any other takes time to evaluate. Obviously they should intend on resigning Bradley.
Grif has had a rough 3 seasons but these injuries are not chronic in nature but seem more like his body not able to do the freak thing without consequences.
To his credit he has become a much better outside shooter and stronger fundamental skills which will help him has he loses some hop's. But, he does get stronger at the same time.
"Who won?" I can't say. Lets see how Bradley does, the pick, and how Griff does in Detroit! Kudo's to Balmer to take Jerry West's advice and others to rebuild. They should move on from Rivers as coach.
Reminds me a bit of the Melo trade. Lots of pieces going one way and an allstar the other.
In the end both teams had one really good season. Knicks won 54 games and Denver won 57 with Karl winning COY.
Both teams seem to have a similar trajectory after the trade. Knicks in my opinion won the trade (the battle) but both teams lost the war as they did not propel either franchise beyond one good season.

I don;t see the point of this deal for the Pistons, unless it's impossible to get people to sign there (possible). Reggie, Blake, and Andre just seems like a poor man's version of Lob City. Why anyone would want to tie up $70 mil a year into a 4 and 5 in a league dominated by wing players is beyond me

Pistons in new arena are having attendance problems. Starphuch move.

Think ownership pushed SVG to bring in a marquee name? This move may have a lot more in common with the Melo trade than we thought.

I think Harris is the best player in that trade - he plays well on both sides of the court. The best thing about Bradley is that he's due to hit free agency. Look for the Clips to sign Paul George in the off season.

Are you saying MSG attendance had something to do with the Melo trade? If anything, the Stat signing was the most pathetic attempt to bring in a marquee name.

Melo in NY was a star!
Dolan thought this is what the team needed above all.
Basically KP now fills that role. Jersey sales, face of the franchise, etc. Real or imagined, this is how it works.
Pistons are not drawing well in their move from suburban arena 30 miles from the new arena. Griff was no doubt the best player in the trade and one that the owner can dictate to his coach/gm to make. Griff is 28 and if he can morph from high flyer to more Karl Malone he can perhaps reduce some of his injuries.
Not a trade I have an appetite for. Im glad we did not make this one.
Not a griff hater, but not a super fan either. Kia commercials were stupid. Good trade for both teams based on objectives and time will tell the tale of the tape as they do on all trades.
Sucks for Griff leaving LA, maybe Malibu, to Detroit. Off day, practice then sit by the pool is a good gig. Detroit, no so.

Not saying MSG had attendance problem. But Dolan liked his stars. Melo was a star. He put up numbers like a star. Has a star smile.
Had a star wife, Star kid. Reality show star, good community star.
I know you want to bait this conversation into one of your sarcastic Melo rants and Im not taking it. Not judging the trade.
Dolan outbid Nets. He did not want him in Brooklyn. Can't deny Melo's draw.
As for the insanity that was Amare, he was here before Melo. He was a star too, and he was loving NY and NY was loving him. Amare was great and embraced NYC.
Knicks had a buzz about and Nets were moving across the river.
