Knicks · I know the game has changed--not sure what a K Mchale player would be today (page 1)

but for those old enough to remember his game at Minnesota--this is a striking resemblance.

Happ is about as bad as a FT shooter that there is.

In the modern NBA there will be questions about his effectiveness. He doesnt shoot 3's and his mid range jumpshot --the form the shot is out of whack with his impressive post game and touch. Hell probably be a 4 yr player--he needs to work on extending the range and 250 FTs a day! But for a guy 6-10 230 with somewhat long arms same hair cut same moves--its pretty weird.

not that im advocating to draft this kid, but you're going to pass over a kid because he can't shoot free-throws? c'mon man.

True . he had crazy game last night had 26 points 11 rebounds 6 assist 4 blocks but missed 11 FTs I dont think hes coming out this year but would be an interesting 2 dn rd pick. If he could show some shooting hed probably make it to late 1 but that will require a 4th year and some expansion of his game.

You posted about him before... love guys like this. The kids nowadays don't know how to defend a player like him. His moves are delicious. Kanter and Willy are similiar.... Happ might actually be more poished. I love his game.

Amazing how similar his game is to McHale. His foot work is great. I like him in the second round.

Nice spin, there. I responded to the original post w/ the comparison to McHale. McHale had nice touch at and away from the basket. Happ does not. Agree w/ another poster that he has a really nice game around the basket. There will be a day where bigs with good moves around the basket are sought after again, but right now they're not.

Wisconsin, especially under Bo Ryan, was known for having 4's and 5's that could play anywhere on the court in Ryan's Swing offense. Year after year they'd have 7 footers that could knock shots down from deep. Happ can't shoot and doesn't seem to be improving w/ that facet of his game.

If you're looking for a big in the Big10 w/ good touch at and away from the basket & nice post moves to boot, this is what you're looking for:

Kornet still lingers in the Gleague.

Free throw shooting is usually a good indicator of a player's ability to improve three-point shooting. If you're expecting a guy to extend his range, then yeah, it might be a good reason to pass over him.

Foot work and post moves are similar but what separates McHale from this kid and other Pf's who emulated his games, is McHales length, his extremely long arms. His lenght allowed him to cover more ground than most, and his long arms kept the ball just out of reach of atheletic bigs with a knack for blocking shots.

I thought we already had a big who can't jump sitting on the bench? How many do we need?

Yeah, McHale-types nowadays have great career futures. In Europe.

We have one starting in Kanter.
