Haven’t followed closely and was surprised that Ryan Anderson wasn’t getting minutes.

ESPN's Zach Lowe revealed just that recently:
"There's an increasing number of people around the league who think the Thunder should look at trading [Russell] Westbrook. To be clear, not a report. Not Thunder sources think they should do this. Why are teams only considering the longer term AFTER they've handed out these new monster contracts?! Same with the clips and Blake Griffin and the wizards and John Wall. The new monster contracts are so vast I don't think they're worth it- yes, sign your franchise player to the first max after their Rookie contract, but I'd trade them before signing the second max.

Must be infuriating for raptor fans, like when we use to watch MJ shatter our dreams every playoffs. Man, poor djsunyc being a Knicks fan during the MJ years, and then switching to being a Raptors fan during the Lebron years
Can't say LeBron doesn't have help! (via SNL)

Labron is essentially the PG on his teams and has been one of the best passers in the game since he's been in the league, not to mention labrons IQ and vision.
comparing these 2 is ridiculous, its like saying shaq gets more rebounds than gary payton

I am not comparing the 2, so you can get off that train. Bringing up 2 different people in the same conversion is not a direct coloration. You can tell this was a response the "(Melo would have had 9)" line.
I am pointing how ineffective Melo was at making assists. Across 6 games. We all know how Westbrook monopolizes the ball for their team, their team did not jell and it's why they lost. That's on players and coach.

If you trade him before the max extension, the player can simply say, if you trade me here, I won't sign any extension there at all, I will leave as soon as my first chance in free agency. Then the player is only a rental and his trade value is shot. These max extension only become available with tenure requirements. Meaning a trade pushes the players Bird Rights to his new team, but not his maximum possible extension. The service time can be split over time ( LBJ in two stints with the Cavs) but it needs to accrue with the same team. The massive cap hit while problematic offers pure COST CERTAINTY. The team taking the player in knows they are getting Player X for this many years and this many dollars and this much cap hit. The massive cap hit drives down the trade price.
Teams are trying to sell tickets and GMs are trying to save their jobs. It's easy to say, this is not a true winning decision, but it's not that easy from the chair of the GM on the hot seat. Or the owner looking to find a way to fill seats. Again, not everyone has the Knicks situation where they sell out no matter what.
In application, what will happen are "Challenge Trades" My problem for your problem. John Wall for Blake Griffin type of trades. This is the short term.
Long term all of this will simply incite another labor war.
GustavBahler@ 5/9/2018 10:44 PM
Looks like Brett Brown's job is safe. Strong comeback from 3-0.

Too bad Irving wont be playing vs. the Cavs. Was looking forward to that.

Yeah but how good would it feel for the cavs to lose without boston having Irving.
No Knicks fan likes boston, but i think most knicks would rather see labron lose than boston

Both Celts and Cavs make the ECF without Irving. Is he a little overrated?!?

Lebron is under rated. When Kyrie is healthy, they won a chip.

Labron gets another coach(dwane casey) fired..lol

"Oui!" That includes the guys that went missing like DeRozan and Lowry, too.

I'm just happy Philly lost. If they had come all the way back from 0-3, working in the Philly area would become unbearable.

Slow, disorganized, incoherent offense by Houston so far, this is not SSOL. They have arguably the best point guard in the league and the best scorer in the league and they can't score! Much credit to Golden State's defense.
Uptown@ 5/14/2018 10:20 PM
Watching the Rockets/Warriors and its obvious, the Rockets are not running the vintage 7 seconds or less MDA Offense!!! MDA has some great offensive sets he used to run with the Suns and even with us like the 21 series which was a sideline dribble hand-off which lead into a PNR with the trailer... He also had other innovative offensive stuff he ran. But this Iso, one-on-one, dribble the shot clock down while everyone else just stands around is ugly basketball
smackeddog@ 5/15/2018 2:31 AM
Man, the finals are going to suck. These conference finals, however, should be entertaining. I don't like the Warriors or Rockets, but I don't think the Celtics or Cavs have a shot at beating either of them.
