Burke, inexpensively backing up Conley makes a lot of sense.
Dont like giving up 1st rounders..but its an interesting trade offer
My rationale remains that if the Knicks are going to retool with youth then do it in Fizdale's first year. Give him the wetware to build whatever team he can and move the vets out of the way so they get playing time.
If the youth movement becomes a yearly drip. Fizdale may not get the shelf-life to see it through.
For Memphis, they get some useful vets to run with this year (all lunch-pail players) AND if their run falls short, they can begin their youth movement next year with a decent pick.

Frank? And? Why would that hold up the deal? If you need to trade Frank to get the #4 pick, you wouldn't do it? Come on. The homerism is unbearable. Somebody offers you the #4 for Frank, you do it and say thank you very much.

Back that train up a little, sure you can discuss Frankie for #4 - that's fair enough. I wouldn't make that trade but its fair game.
HOWEVAH, no way in hell can that deal be #4 AND eat Chandler's millions for Frankie - that's nuts.
But why not discuss Frankie for #4.
The reason I don't do that deal is that Frankie is already a known NBA quality, #4 isn't. AND, trades like this, IFF they work out, are little more than lateral moves - you get one to lose one who you already have invested in.
If I'm building I want to ADD to Frankie not just shuffle the deck of Jokers yet again.
I'll consider #9, Lee (still useful for Memphis), Lance (only 1 mil guaranteed after this season), and their choice of Mudiay or Baker (both expiring) for #4 and Parsons. I would delay free agency for the opportunity to build around Porzingis, Doncic, and Frank. I'll only do that deal if Doncic is on the board. He's the perfect wing when Frank is the PG. It gives us 2 playmakers. Then 2020 should be time to sign a real difference maker. But that core of KP, Frank, and Doncic with all draft picks going forward (and Hardaway as a quality placeholder at SG) is a great start here.

We need to figure out a trade where we receive #4 without giving up our #9 Frank or Porzingis
I don't particularly care to move up in the draft but would love the opportunity to get a second lottery pick (and possibly even a late first to select Anfernee Simmons).
If the Clippers would be interested in taking the 9th and 36th pick for 12 and 13, one of those picks and expiring contracts could be used to acquire Parsons and the 4th pick. Memphis is one of the few teams I can think of that could use Enes Kanter as a big off the bench, so why not:
Enes Kanter, Trey Burke, a $4.3 million trade exception and the 13th pick for Chandler Parson and the 4th pick?
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tra...
It frees the Grizzlies of $4.3 million in the immediate, and effectively erases the remaining $19 million of Parson's contract at the end of the season. We also allow them to stay in the lottery, which can help their PR effort with fans who'd be pissed about them valuing short-term goals over long-term goals. I personally wouldn't do it but I also would have preferred a rebuild to paying Mike Conley Jr. and Marc Gasol a +$30 million and +$25 million salary, respectively.
We, on the other hand, would be armed with the 4th and 12th pick in the draft. I suppose it has its appeal but I think there is a bit too much risk in this draft at the top for me to be comfortable trading up. I guess at 4, I'd take Mo Bamba though. I think he'll be the most impactful player in this draft and have people wondering why he didn't go no.1 overall (if the Kings don't pick him). That twin-tower duo with he and KP would be intriguing despite the league moving towards more of a smallball format.
I know this seems scatterbrained but if I we get the 4th pick, I wonder what Ainge would be willing to offer? He reportedly wants Mohammed Bamba who should be available at 4. The Celtics have the Kings' unprotected 2019 first round pick, the Grizzlies 2019 first round pick and a future Clippers first round pick as well; all of which could turn into decent lottery picks (a great pick as far as the Kings are concerned). If he were willing to offer all of that, I'd bide my time until next year (provided there isn't expected to be a significant dropoff of talent in the lottery).
Some might think it's an outlandish idea for the Celtics to be giving up so much but Ainge was willing to trade 4 first round picks- once upon a time- for Justise Winslow. Two of those picks that were confirmed in the deal turned out to be Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier, which would've been an amazing return considering what Winslow currentlt is. So I think Ainge could be talked into making this type of move with them already having a core in place.

Exactly! KP, Frank and #9 is untouchable!
Give them THJ, Lee and second round pick and possibly Thomas

Obviously if we can do that of course, but i don't see that as realistic. It would have to be a swap.
Parsons and Noah (and Lee) have 2 years left; next year we are going nowhere and these will all be expiring the year after. I wish Kanter would opt in or out. I’d offer Burke (reluctantly), 9, either Lee or Hardaway, 36 and take #4 (Doncic, Bagley, Bamba). Our core is set for years with Frank, Doncic and KP. We have a good pic in 2019 as well. Beas, Thomas, Mudiay, among all gone as is OQuinn in all likelihood.
Maybe we can trade for Kyrie with Enes plus Dotson. All that’s missing is a kick ass 5 who can board and play great D. We either get in in the draft or free agenxy 2020

Why is it homerism to think he could be one of the best defensive players in the league and you want to hold out and see how that plays out?
The Knicks stink and need high end young talent. Would you rather have Bomba/Jackson/Bagley or Frank AND Carter/Bridges? I dont think that is as big a no brainer as you make it out to be. Unless you think Frank is trash, than its a no brainer.

Cant see Doncic being there, but if he fell I would give up a future #1 with top 3 lotto protection. Doncic is a generational talent
I agree that kanter can be a servicable backup or front court addition for the grizzlies.
If I’m the grizzlies and thinking of making a run with the same team again I honestly do consider it (the mirror test everyone talks about).
Conley, Tyreke, bridges, kanter, gasolina
Kanter + 9 + Lee + 2020 pick lottery protected for 4 + Parsons + mclemore

I am in this boat as well. I would hope for this to happen. Wouldn't do it got Marvin Bagley or Bamba but if Doncic falls, I'd say go for it. The kings seem to want Porter, maybe the trade down as well? Or pick him at 2?

The Kings would be retarded to pass on Doncic, but they are. Doncic is just too good.. Knicks getting him is a pipedream but who knows.
Ostensibly, Fizzdale should know something about Parsons and whether there's anything there.
My own sense is he's been too caught up in chasing ladies to rehab, and worry tremendously about establishing a culture here (in addition to accumulating talent).
I am hoping similar deals can be had if we want to move up, i.e., our 9 and some serviceable player (not a pick) for a higher pick and someone less good but still fitting the bill for our in other ways

I guarantee you that will be on the minds of Perry/Mills/Fiz and if they want Kyrie then they aren't gonna let getting another 1st round pick get in the way of that. Perry has already said they wanna save any cap space to use in 2019.
Kanter Oquinn Lee deals will expire..That wont be a problem..
Lee doesn't expire until the following off season and the Parsons money will take care of the Kanter and KOQ money so where will the $25/$30 mil to sign Kyrie come from???

Can we trade Kanter? Not sure what the rules are pre and post opt in
If we could, I think Kanter and Lee for the 4th, Parsons and filler is fair considering that the Griz just seem to want to win 50 games (I didn't say it would be smart for them!). It gives them two win-now vets, and cap relief after the season.
I wouldn't trade the 9th too

thats asking alot tho with Parsons contract....or #9 and Noah for that package makes since both has 2 years left on their deal
Parsons makes 23 mil for two more years. The Lakers had to trade the former #2 to move on from moz. They got a late first back but Parson's contract is worse.
They also got back Brook Lopez in the deal. Hardaway jr & #9 is a good deal for both teams desires.
That's one of the most lopsided trade proposals I have seen in a while. THJ is about to enter his prime, with a very (hopefully) good coaching staff on deck, and a #9 pick that could be just (if not better) than a 4th pick. Trust me, They will never give up that pick without unloading Parsons.
