The 4 main targets would be
Jerome Robinson
Kevin Huerter
Chandler Hutchinson
Josh Okogie
what r u offering and who wants it?
You can never make enough Heuter threads!
Here is something that makes sense. I agree. Use 36 and cash to move into the first round.
I think moving Trey Burke could get us a late first rounder.
I want t fill out my bench with defensive players with offensive upside
Guys like Okogie Bonzie Colson Frazier--2nd rounders or very late 1 as in 27-30. Will 36 3mm and an additional 2nd rder get us from 36 to 28?

And yet you think Frank + 36 would get you a late first? This doesn't jive.

We already have that with Dotson at SG. Troy Williams is also a very promising bench piece at SF. If we are looking for bench pieces we need a PF/SF and PF/C with length, athleticism, and shooting.

No I wanted to get another top 15 pick--I never said Frank and 36 for late 1. I said Frank and 36 to get high enough to get Huerter.

The "cash allotment" for teams increased to about 5 to 5.1 million this offseason.
No#36, Dotson and 5 million could get you from 36 to 25-27ish.
The difference between 27ish and 36 is pretty incremental. Oddly enough, it wouldn't be a team who is cap locked most likely to do something like this, but a team looking to fire it's coach when the GM in place will remain. If a GM hires a coach who doesn't work out and wants to replace him, in many cases, the owner will demand the GM "find the money" somewhere. Sort of bizarre situations like the Bulls selling Jordan Bells pick slot to the Warriors for their full allotment last year comes down to evening out the books for some teams.
I don't think Huerter will be there at 25-27ish anyway. In general it would be a bad deal for the Knicks.
Huerter is likely going early 20s, maybe late teens at this point.
Frank N alone could net the Clippers 12th and 13th picks straight up. I don't think the Knicks should do it, but if you want to package Frank N with 36 for just 1 mid level first round pick, you've just robbed yourself there.
I know this will sound nuts to you Briggs, but wait at 9, take the best player, wait at 36, see who falls, take the best player there. Take your 5 million allotment and see if you can buy another 2nd round pick somewhere. Sometime the best move is standing still.
Again the brainless human beings who want to trade Frank! Frank is untouchable even for #1 pick!

I like Frank too, but for the #1 pick, Bon Voyage!!
If Philly is in love with Knox and he is there at 9 do they give up 26 to move up a spot? Should the Knicks take the pick or stay and grab Knox? Knox has been getting fantastic reviews for his workouts.
#36 should get us Jarred Vanderbilt and that's the guy I want.

Interesting take considering there is some Knicks media chatter that the Knicks have started to like Knox too.
Wonder if it is about moving a slot down while nabbing the guy they wanted all along plus an additional draft pick

I would demand 26. It seems like theKnicks are locked into Knox or Bridges unless porter falls.

Precisely reub you are right on the money. A draft of Mikal Bridges and then Vandy in the 2nd would be an absolute home run of a draft

If true the Knicks could come out of the draft with Mikal, Vandy and maybe say a Mitchell Robinson to pair with Kanter.

We'd have our future frontline of Vanderbilt, Mikal and KP. All long and defensive minded players. Vanderbilt would make up for any deficiencies in our rebounding.

Again you are right on the money. My only disagreement: I would actually put Mikal in the back court with Frank. Together, they would put the perimeter on lock down. Then you back them with 2 players Vandy and KP who are great defenders on their own right - What a defense In addition, we already know what Kanter can do on the glass.Imagine adding Vandy who has been compared to Rodman for his rebounding prowess and the knicks would destroy teams on the boards.

Outside of a Tier 1 move, a one pick move up or down would likely be a ceremonial type trade. I.E. a trade that lends the perception of a value shift, probably for a contract dump, more likely as an addition to a Challenge Trade.
A raw example would be if Gilbert Arenas and Rashard Lewis had different length contracts. If one had one more year, the other team would send over a few 2nd rounders and maybe do a one pick move in the first round if they had picks next to each other. Challenge Trades are my overpaid problem for your overpaid problem, maybe the change of scenery will help everyone.
Moving a couple of slots or more is different. There is likely a real shift in moving from one Tier to another in the draft. Outside of Tier 1 and Tier 2, the end of one Tier and the beginning of another starts to become incremental in terms of actual market value. The 9th overall is likely a Tier 3 pick. And so is the 10th overall.
Philly will make a push for LBJ, and they will need all their draft assets to move for veterans under contract. LBJ wants to play with established veterans.
