Unfortunately the Knicks will also have Lee and Noah still on cap, you can stretch Noah for some additional cap relief but it looks like Knicks will only have room for 1 Max slot.

The focus should be signing Kyrie or Kemba (2 most likely free agents in my opinion) and getting to the playoffs. Running with a core of KP, one of the 2 above, Frank, Knox, Hardaway, and 2019 lottery pick.
Once Hardaway comes off the books in 2021, sign the max free agent that elevates us to a contender. Example would be.
C Porzingis
F Giannis
F Knox
G Ntilikina
G Irving or Kemba
2019 1st
2020 1st
2021 1st
And hope a couple of our 2nd round pick (dotson, Mitchell, etc) pan out into solid role players too.

The direction of this franchise is going to be base on the development and level of which some of this young guys get to. Think about it, If Burke develops into an above avg pg do you still make Kyrie or kemba a priority.

20 to 30 wins = major shake up with roster and FO
30 to 40 wins = major shake up with roster
40 to 45 wins = players are getting better should attract some decent top tier FA-playoff bound
45 to 50 wins = players values are up, and will be a major player in the FA - 2nd round playoffs

Honestly I might have been open to trading him to Philly for their picks this year.
