Knicks · Can We Dump Hardaway Jr. With Lavine Likely Going to SAC? (page 1)

NardDogNation @ 7/6/2018 10:26 PM
I can't see a team as frugal as the Bulls matching that dumb contract the Kings just gave Lavine. Is this our opening to dump Hardaway Jr on a team to clear cap space and offer some flexibility in the immediate? I'd hate to take on Falicio's contract but would consider it to get the job done.

LMFAO. I suppose the Bulls needed to reach the cap floor anyway. Even so, this is the type of contract that haunts a franchise.

agreed. they will regret matching this. how many games of the 328 (4 years worth of games) do you think lavine actually plays? over/under begins at 200.

Welcome to the new CBA

Not a fan of Lavine at all- can't shoot, not a good defender. What exactly does he do?
TheGame @ 7/7/2018 4:14 AM
That Hardaway deal looks better and better when you see the deal Lavine got.

Hardaway ranked 20th among small forwards on ESPN's real plus minus. That's not bad - and when you consider that he was playing out of position, it's pretty good.

Also took more charges than all his teammates combined, 2nd in the league. It was a rough season for Timmy. Thought he handled it well, considering.

Some of the comments Ive read lately about him sound like they came from his rookie year. Made similar comments at the time.

THJ is a different player in enough ways to be glad that he's coming back. Hopefully healthy.

Thjr is not bad at all. He can shoot from everywhere and play defence now.

Poster Boy... Position-less NBA player duty...

ThJr is still young and improving. I would like to see him at the 2 this year. Even with Fizdale's positionless style

He is a decent player and can be a valuable piece of the puzzle.

He can shoot from everywhere "Inefficiently"

He isn't bad but he isn't worth 19% of the cap. The money can be better spent. If Hardaway was worth his contract we will be able to trade him to get 2 max slots

Timmy vs open concept. Many of us saw what is possible. He could be a nice piece but was not ready to be 2nd or 1st option. Consistency comes after inconsistency.

“Money better spend”. Of course there are better ideas, but its not as easy as written.

Tim Hardaway needs to stay...Athletic, good scorer..He just needs help!! WHy shift off a crucial piece
smackeddog @ 7/7/2018 2:39 PM
I think Tim Jr can be better than he has been- I'd like to see a season under Fix and playing SG instead of SF

THJ...

I see a 6th or 7th man on a contending team, which is fine. I just think you sign a guy like that on the tail end of your rebuild.
