Knicks · I can see us in Playoffs without KP (page 1)

Gudris @ 7/11/2018 10:35 AM
so many bad teams in the East, THj, Kanter, Knox, Frank, Burke, Mudiy, etc is definitely 8th seed in the East
Panos @ 7/11/2018 10:43 AM
Mudiaye? Mudiaye? Did you say Mudiaye?
martin @ 7/11/2018 10:45 AM
Team probably needs to be OVER .500, something they were barely able to do with KP going nuts. Have they added enough pieces to propel them to be +20 in games won?
Knixkik @ 7/11/2018 10:47 AM
8th spot will be open, so it's always possible. Not likely but possible. If we hang around though i expect KP to be back by Jan 1 at the latest. Knox will really have to be NBA ready.
reub @ 7/11/2018 3:30 PM
We're looking at 20 wins at most.

Who do you think we would replace among the favorites?

Boston Celtics
1/1
Philadelphia 76ers
5/2
Toronto Raptors
10/1
Milwaukee Bucks
16/1
Washington Wizards
16/1
Indiana Pacers
22/1
Cleveland Cavaliers
40/1
Detroit Pistons
50/1

Nothing wrong with a fan standing up and saying good things.

Classic line from today's Posting and Toasting column,
Gbinije did his best Emmanuel Mudiay impression and fell at one point, and otherwise I barely remember him even being out there.

That's a stretch. We have guys that can score and are obviously going to win some games. Also, KP coming back would make it impossible to be that bad too.

I’m happy that we have started to upgrade our level of talent. But with this squad, this year, we would be over acheiving to make the playoffs in the G league. Our vets pretty much either suck or don’t play defense, and the rest need to either develop or take a step towards their potential. Good things coming our way, but not this year

sooo your saying JH is better than fiz,

Jack is better than burke
bease and KOQ replace by Mario and Knox

were going to be taking way more 3's, much better at defending the 3, and should have a decent increase in FT attempts, and pace of game.

Not sure why you think we will win 20 games

20 to 30 wins. Our record with KP last season was 23 and 32...I think we won 6 more all season. So yes Fiz is better than JH, Burke better than Jack(but not by a huge sum as Jack played well for us), Beasley and KOQ probably out play Mario and Knox. Knox is a relatively raw rookie and Mario has been underwhelming his entire short career. Beas and KOQ did better than expected for us all year. So Fiz and Burke being better than their counterparts doesn't equal losing KP for 2/3 of a season.
JrZyHuStLa @ 7/11/2018 6:38 PM
Please no playoffs.

Give me KP Knox Frank RJ Kyrie the season after.

what FA is signing up for that.

I wouldn't count Miami out and would actually put them in for sure and my sleeper team in the east is Chicago, i really like what they're building over there with K.Dunn who really came on last year, Z.Lavine, J.Holiday, L.Markkanan and W.Carter and a bench of B.Portis, D.Valentine, S.Kilpatrick and the kid i really like that they used their second 1st round pick on in C.Hutchinson.

GustavBahler @ 7/11/2018 10:26 PM
Injuries can also change the tide for teams looking to make the playoffs, for good or bad. Sometimes teams slip in because of them.

Looking at the talent on the roster, and how important our young players, rooks, would be in any playoff push. Positionless BBall or not, we would need a starting PG to play at a high level for most of the season.

Burke seems like the best candidate we have now to get everybody on the same page and be a legit threat on offense. Any playoff run would probably hinge on him.

TheGame @ 7/11/2018 10:45 PM
If Knox plays like Jason Tatum did last year, it is a possibility. But more than likely we finish about the same as last year's record.
fitzfarm @ 7/12/2018 7:59 AM
I’m really impressed by franks growth as a player again he’s only 19. I think he has the inside track as fiz’s starting PG. The first game he was just getting a feel for his teammates that’s what every good PG/leader will/should do esp when the games are meaningless summer league. The second game, is more of what I expect to see from our lockdown 19 year old defensive floor general.

I have a feeling we start the season with a SL of

Robinson,Kornet,Noah?
Hezonja,beasley,?
Knox,Lee,hicks
Thjr,Dotson,tier
Frank,Burke,Mudiay

Will that be the youngest starting 5 in the league? I think Beasley comes back on another vet min deal, knicks could get Perry and fiz to talk him into it. Also I put Lee in there because he’s still on the team but wouldn’t be surprised if moved for a backup sf.
